Torre dei Belforti
The Torre dei Belforti is a medieval tower built in the 12th century and restored in 1969.
It is a large house composed of a fully equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms, a living room with two single beds and a terrace overlooking the ancient village and offering 360 ° visibility over the valley below. Each room has a newly renovated independent bathroom. At the foot of the tower there is a large olive grove with a swimming pool for the exclusive use of our guests. The garden is an ideal place to relax and spend pleasant days. The Tower is on the summit of Montecatini Val di Cecina, a small medieval village of 500 inhabitants, not far from famous tourist destinations, but still unspoiled. In the main square there are two restaurants, a bar, a baker with local products, a tobacconist and a small supermarket. Montecatini is the ideal place for those who want to visit Tuscany, go to the beach or walk in nature and for lovers of good food. La Torre is a romantic place also suitable for large families.

Great Torre, impressive views
If you're looking for an authentic experience of Tuscany, look no further! We had a wonderful stay in Luca and Emilia's tower. The tower offered incredible views, clean and cozy living spaces, and a fully-equipped kitchen, making it the perfect respite after a day of sightseeing. It's conveniently located a short drive from several must-see hill towns (Volterra, Siena, Lucca), plus, Montecatini Val di Cecina itself was a lovely village to explore. From the extensive grounds (chickens and olive trees and a pool!) to the artfully decorated tower, this ended up being a highlight of our wonderful time in Tuscany! Big thanks to Luca and Emilia for being the consummate hosts.

A tower full of art upon a beautiful landscape
We had a wunderful, comfortable stay at the tower.
Besides being very clean, with a modern, good equiped kitchen and bathrooms the tower itself is a unique and impressive location.
The family gave us a warm welcome and a nice tour and great tipps and information about the area.

Einmaliges Feriendomizil über einer kleinen, lebendigen und malerischen Stadt
Wir haben mit vier Erwachsenen eine wunderschöne Woche im Herzen der Toskana in unserem Feriendomizil, im Torre de Montecatini, erlebt.
Die kleine Stadt Montecatini mit einem alten Stadtkern liegt malerisch auf dem Gipfel eines kleinen Berges. Von der Stadt und insbesondere vom darüber liegenden Turm hat man eine fantastische Aussicht auf das Cecina-Tal, auf Volterra und in Richtung Cecina bis zum Mittelmeer. In naher Kfz-Reichweite liegen viele Ziele der Toskana (u.a. Sienna, St. Gimignano), die auch über kleine und schöne Nebenstrecken gut erreichbar sind. Im Dorf Montecatini gibt es gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Alimentari), eine Bar und zwei Restaurants, die immer gut besucht waren. Allerdings ist der Ort glücklicherweise, anders als häufig die Touristenziele, nicht voll oder überlaufen. Als nahes, fußläufiges Ausflugsziel bietet sich eine aufgelassene Kupfermine (heute ein Museum) an, die von einem deutschen Ingenieur aufgebaut wurde.
Der Turm selbst ist sehr gut und zeitgemäß (Bäder, Küche) ausgebaut und in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Auch bei großer Mittagswärme draußen bieten die dicken Wände einen kühleren Aufenthalt. Der am Fuße des Turm anschließende Garten ist wie ein kleiner Park mit Olivenbäumen und mit umgebenden Zypressen aufgebaut und bietet viele Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten in Schatten und Sonne mit einen kleinen Pool.
Die Gastgeber Luca und Emilia mit ihren Söhnen waren überaus nett und hilfsbereit und immer ansprechbar (gute englische und französische Verständigungsmöglichkeit). Besonders bemerkenswert war das vielfältige Leben am Dorfplatz unterhalb des Turms, bei dem auch zu jeder Tageszeit ein Cafe oder ein Wein/Bier mit einem netten Gespräch mit den Anwesenden verbunden werden konnte. Insofern sind wir dort gerne abends nach der Rückkehr von Ausflügen eingekehrt und haben auch zumeist dort gegessen.
Wir waren alle begeistert und werden gerne wiederkommen.
