About this property

Die Ferienwohnung Dünenrose im Haus Südperd - Haus Südperd

The Baltic Sea resort of Thiessow is located in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, on the Mönchgut Peninsula. As a nature lover, you’ll want to take advantage of the opportunity to go on long bike rides and hikes from here. Marvel at the landscape of the coast and the Zick Mountains. Sunbathers and water lovers will find everything they’re looking for on Rügen’s most diverse beach. It alternates between wide sandy beaches and narrow pebble beaches, all the way up to 30-meter-high cliffs.
In the area around Thiessow, you’ll find the fishing village of Gager, where you can buy freshly caught fish directly from local fishermen. Take a trip to Göhren and explore the island aboard the “Rasender Roland.” Drive through Sellin and Binz all the way to Putbus. Get off at Sellin and visit the pier—it’s always worth a trip.
But there’s also plenty to discover right around Thiessow. Climb the Lotsenberg and visit its lighthouse. On a clear day, you can see as far as the Greifswalder Oie or even all the way to Peenemünde on Usedom. In the summer, you can visit the Rügen Market in Thiessow. Here you’ll find regional specialties, traditional crafts, and savory and sweet treats. Leave the stresses of everyday life behind and enjoy the peace and seclusion that you can only find on Rügen.
