Arguineguin, vacation home directly by the sea, Casa Perchel
A beautiful, quiet vacation home in a fantastic location in the old town, right on the water. 50 m to the marina/fishing harbor, 50 m to the boardwalk, 50 m to the beach, a good 100 m to the weekly market ... The house, approx. 125 square meters, features a balcony and a sunny rooftop terrace. A dream vacation in Arguineguín, between Puerto Rico and Maspalomas, with pleasant temperatures and sunshine year-round (even in summer!). The house doesn’t have a pool, but why would you need one when the ocean is right outside your door! The Accommodation Beautiful, quiet vacation home in a fantastic location in the old town, right by the ocean. 50 m to the marina/fishing harbor, 50 m to the promenade, 50 m to the beach, a good 100 m to the weekly market (Tuesdays starting at 9 a.m.) ... See below for availability and prices! A dream vacation in Arguineguín, between Puerto Rico and Maspalomas, with pleasant temperatures and sunshine all year round (even in summer!) Location/Description: In the south of Gran Canaria, where the weather is sunny, beautifully sheltered from the wind, and temperatures remain pleasant even in summer. The house, reminiscent of a fisherman’s cottage, is located in the remaining historic part of Arguineguín, right on the marina/harbor. The beach is only about 50 meters away, as are the boardwalk, restaurants, and more. The supermarket is just 100 meters away. And yet, it’s wonderfully quiet. Only local neighbors. The location is absolutely exquisite and highly sought-after! While the house doesn’t have a swimming pool, why would you need one when the ocean is right on your doorstep? And in Arguineguín, there are hardly any currents that make swimming difficult or impossible. For children, there’s a lagoon nearby that’s separated from the ocean, so you don’t have to worry about your little ones and they can swim on their own. Everything is kept very clean every day. During the week, you often have the beach all to yourself. A supermarket (SPAR) with very affordable prices is not far away. Depending on your mobility, the beach, town center, and harbor are just a 1-minute walk or less away. Amadores Beach, the most beautiful on the island, is also just a few minutes away. Although you don’t need a rental car in Arguineguín, I recommend renting one—preferably right at the airport (starting at just about 80 euros for a week! My TIP: Book through (URL HIDDEN)—that way, you’ll always be mobile. And Gran Canaria is so diverse that you’d miss out on a lot if you didn’t take one or more trips inland. Parking spots in Arguineguín, right in front of the house, are scarce, but you should always be able to find one within 100 meters.
House amenities: The cozy, well-furnished house (approx. 125 square meters total), partially newly renovated, consists of two separate bedrooms with double beds, a hallway, and a bathroom on the first floor. There is also a living/bedroom and a kitchen (which is visually separated from the living/bedroom) and a balcony on the first floor. The living/bedroom offers additional sleeping space for up to 3 extra people. The large sun terrace extends across the entire roof of the house. Sun loungers and chairs are provided. The bathroom features a shower/tub combination, toilet, ... washing machine, scale, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer; patio furniture (table, chairs, umbrella, side table, and clothesline) is, of course, available. Kitchenette with a ceramic cooktop, new refrigerator with freezer compartment, dining table, stools, shelf, dresser, and plenty of dishes and storage containers, etc., oven for baking, raclette grill, coffee maker, electric kettle, and toaster. The living room is equipped with a flat-screen TV (German channels), DVD player, CD stereo system, large standing fan, couch (sleeps 3–4), table, and living room cabinet. There are plenty of hand towels, bath towels, and bed linens. You are, of course, welcome to use the washing machine. Cleaning supplies and a broom for spot cleaning are also provided. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the house! You are, of course, free to smoke on the balcony, the terrace, or in front of the house. Free Wi-Fi is available.
It’s best to protect yourself against such risks with travel cancellation insurance. We hope you won’t need to make a claim.

Recommendations for flights, etc.: Book flights at Ryanair (from Frankfurt Hahn, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf/Weeze, Bremen, Hamburg, Karlsruhe (Baden-Baden), and starting in October 2017, also from Frankfurt Main!! (URL HIDDEN) ), since they’re usually much cheaper than other airlines (starting at just 80 euros round-trip), or Norwegian Airlines (from Cologne/Bonn). Rent a car for Gran Canaria online starting at just 80 per week (a good and affordable recommendation from me: (URL HIDDEN) ), bus from the airport to Arguineguín: 5.50 euros per person; taxi: approx. 35 euros. If you’d like, a pickup service can also be arranged. The cost for this is 50 euros, which you’ll need to pay directly on site.
More info about Puerto Rico / Arguineguín: Nearby, you’ll find large shopping centers with a variety of good and affordable restaurants, bars, nightclubs, boutiques, supermarkets, etc. At the tourist information office, you’ll find plenty of useful and free information, including many flyers, maps, and more. There’s also an overwhelming array of activities for the little ones: a lovely playground, a mini-golf course, trampolines, a play area… Great water sports options on the beach, and a small water park at Amador Beach in the summer. A nice outing for both adults and children is a trip to the donkey farm with its attached petting zoo. There, you’ll be treated to simple but absolutely delicious food. The large water park and Palmitos Park, as well as other attractions, are very easily accessible by bus. There’s an excellent bus network covering the entire island. That said, I still maintain that you’re better off with a rental car. You’ll usually find a travel guide with a road map :-) on the living room table. Arguineguín is a town in the southwest of the Canary Island of Gran Canaria and belongs to the municipality of Mogán. It’s located on the island’s south coast between Maspalomas and Puerto Rico. Very close by is the town of Amadores, home to the beautiful white-sand beach of Amadores. It’s right next to Puerto Rico. The sheltered location in the bay often ensures calm waters. As the name Arguineguín suggests. In the language of the indigenous people, Arguineguín means “calm water”—a reference to the lack of wind. An artificial sandy beach and two beautiful marinas, Puerto Escala and Puerto Base, are situated in a bay protected by a breakwater. The entire area is considered Gran Canaria’s water sports paradise. The windsurfing center—where world championships are often held—is located at Castillo de Romeral. Everything is easily and affordably accessible via the public bus network. Arguineguín has several shopping centers as well as shops and restaurants in all neighborhoods, which primarily cater to tourists’ needs. The area is known for its water sports activities, ranging from water skiing, windsurfing, and scuba diving to deep-sea fishing and sailing. You can obtain a fishing license at one of the many fishing shops or at the town hall; they cost 7.50 euros per year. Two surf rods are included with the house. Or you can take a day trip to the port of Mogan on one of the sightseeing boats that cruise along the coast. Alternatively, you can go on a whale/dolphin-watching tour. The departure point is less than 200 meters from the house. Local attractions also include golf courses, all kinds of entertainment for young and old, and a nearby shopping center. Plus, top-notch dining! Getting Here, Location, and Distances: The house is located in the historic center of Arguineguín, on Calle Manuel Pérez la Barrera. The distance to the airport is just under 40 km (approx. 40 minutes) Distance to the nearest store/supermarket/café/restaurant: 50 to 100 m Sports activities in the area: Fishing, hiking, mountaineering, biking, golf, inline skating, canoeing, ATV riding, mountain biking, horseback riding, swimming, sailing, surfing, scuba diving, tennis, volleyball, water skiing, wave riding, golf
