Chef's Basecamp: Modern kitchen with all the gadgets, a BBQ grill, and a fire pit (subject to fire restrictions). Currently closed due to fire restrictions imposed by forest service.

Isolated Mountain Location: The cabin is approximately 13 miles east of Moab and just minutes from the Slickrock, Porcupine Rim, and Kokopelli trailheads.
There are three routes to the cabin: Sand Flats Road, La Sal Mountain Loop Road, and Castle Valley. The La Sal Mountain Loop and Castle Valley routes are paved for most of the drive, with the final several miles on gravel roads.
Important road information: The direct route from the Slickrock entrance to the cabin is only about 13 miles, but it is a winding, mountainous, county-maintained gravel road with significant elevation changes. The scenery is spectacular, but this is not a quick 13-mile drive. Plan on approximately 45 minutes from Moab, and allow more time in poor weather or after road damage.
A high-clearance vehicle is strongly recommended. The final half-mile to the cabin is a privately maintained dirt road that can develop ruts, washouts, mud, or rough sections depending on weather and recent use.
The La Sal Mountain Loop route is longer but paved for most of the way and is also very scenic. Travel time is still approximately 45 minutes.
Guests who are uncomfortable driving on rough mountain gravel roads may find the access challenging. If you have questions about current road conditions or your vehicle, please contact us before arrival.

Check-out: 9:00 AM

Check-in: 24 hours after the previous guest’s departure (e.g., if a guest checks out Monday at 9 AM, the next check-in is Tuesday at noon).
