This beach house was perfect for our family of 12! The kids loved the bunk room with the arcade and there was plenty of room to spread out. The views were breathtaking and it was so convenient being right on the beach. Lots of beach toys/paddleboards to enjoy and the chair service was automatically set up each morning for us! We will definitely book again!

Family Getaway

Overall our stay was amazing. It’s tough finding a house on the beach to accommodate 10 people comfortably but this house checked 95% of the boxes. The walk to the beach was very easy and the fact that the house had additional chairs, umbrellas, floats and even a paddle board came in very handy. The views from all three levels are fantastic. The beach is not over crowded and was very family friendly. A few things to be aware of. If you have older parents or grandparents going, the stairs in the house will become challenging for them. Would have been nice to have access to the elevator for them and for getting groceries to the second floor kitchen. The beach access through the first floor bedroom can be inconvenient but we all managed it no problem. When all was said and done the entire family had an amazing time and if we all went together again, I would absolutely try and book this house.

Amazing Property Great for Families

This property is amazing in almost every way!The location is superb! This stretch of the Gulf is stunningly beautiful, and it’s not overcrowded (unlike the big condos and nearby public access areas). You’re walking distance to beach water sports and a short drive to non-beach activities for the kids like arcades and putt putt. The amenities are great! The main one for us was the service that set out beach chairs and umbrellas each day which made going to the beach so easy. I had brought a Shibumi (because you never know what the house is going to provide) but never got it out of the luggage. There were also high quality beach towels and additional beach chairs if needed. The splash pools was small, but the 4 kids in our group made frequent use of it. My wife and SIL took the kids to the community pool which they enjoyed as well. The house itself is well organized and spacious. The kids bunk room was great and has an arcade-style game machine. Perhaps the only potential negative was the downstairs bedroom. That room can feel like a highway since people have to go through it to access the beach and the splash pool, but it really wasn’t an issue. Overall, I don’t think you can go wrong with Son of a Beach.

Pictures make this place look great

I want to start off by saying the host of this property has excellent communication & willingness to help out in anyway. We had a later check in due to an unexpected issue but they got it fixed & us in the house as soon as possible. We also noticed the house didn’t have a broom & they had one dropped off as soon as possible. There are a couple things I wish I would have been aware of before booking this house, which I think will be beneficial for others looking for a place. -there are 0 places to hang towels. The bathroom has 1 short towel rack made to hold 1 towel. Not convenient when more than one person is sharing a bathroom. Also no where to hang beach towels -the only way to access the beach is through the main floor king bedroom. This was extremely inconvenient. -the access to the beach being through a bedroom obviously made that bedroom a high traffic area. With people constantly walking through after being at the beach, there needs to be a rug or something in front of the door. The balcony is tile and extremely slippery when wet. Not good for young kiddos. -there is only 1 bathroom on the main floor (which has a king bedroom as well as the bunk bed room) this would have been fine, but the bathroom is in the king bedroom. So you had to enter the king bedroom to use the restroom. Not great for privacy. -the listing advertised that the kitchen/dining room had seating for 12 but that is not the case. There is a dining table with 6 chairs, and a bar area with 3 stools

Perfect Family Vacation with Family and 2 toddlers!

Great Experience Staying with Stan at the “Sun of a Beach” house! The house was immaculate and directly on the beach. Easiest access to the beach we’ve had (and we come to Destin yearly). Worth it for private beach access. Private with no chairs in front of yours! Comfy beds, clean house, nice amenities. We cooked at the house most nights and had everything needed. The dipping pool was perfect and enjoyable. Highly recommend Staying with Stan!

Stan is the man! Super helpful host! The house had everything we needed and was super clean! The location is right on the beach overlooking crystal blue water! Even the beds were comfortable!!
