Peaceful place!!!!!
This place is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. The creek is next to the cabin, it’s amazing. The cabin is great, perfect for a small family. It’s not really clean but there are a lot of cleaning supplies and tools to clean it up. We will definitely go back.

Long steep gravel driveway from where the address is/shows on GPS
The entrance of the property is shared with multiple other owners with a chain locked gate. You have to unlock a keypad to retrieve a key to lock & re-lock the gate every single time and you cannot take the key with you. 2 mile loose gravel driveway. Lots of ups and down and windy one lane driving. Takes about 10-15 minutes from where the address/gps drops you off to get to the actual cabin. So if you are planning on traveling to Boone or West Jefferson and you think it will only be 35-40 minutes. Add another 15! Cabin is NOT kid friendly. Tons of hazards. Dishes were all dirty or should I say poorly cleaned. Seriously, almost every dish. We washed anything before we used it. Spiral metal staircase right when you walk in the front door & in middle of living room, for upstairs loft rooms which are NOT enclosed. Could hear every/any sound in the house, floors not sealed off. NO PRIVACY) BOTH showers extremely small as well as the bathroom space, zero space to actually get ready. The space where the sink is awful. Maybe 2 feet wide. On top of all of that, the upstairs shower wouldn’t get hot and when the owner called (the house btw not us directly) he wasn’t local to come fix or didn’t want to have someone come out to fix. Instead, asked us if we could attempt to repair ourselves. IF you are looking for a couples retreat and do not want to leave the cabin the entire time, this place would suffice.

Mountain getaway
Overall the cabin was good. The location couldn't have been better for us. Really felt tucked away and the sound of the river and small waterfall was wonderful. Lots of time spent on deck reading and listening to the water. Did catch a couple trout which we ate for dinner final night. And no cell service was actually a real blessing. Just make sure to screen shot the check in procedures and you wont have a problem. Again overall a great experience.

Cute getaway
The house was nice, many cooking supplies available, soft beds, wifi works IN THE HOUSE. Do not expect to pull up the codes at the end of the driveway. You will need to turn around the way you came to get signal. I didn’t see cleaning notes or rules “everywhere” There are a few but nothing crazy. The shower is definitely small. Like don’t plan on shaving your legs unless you are young and vey flexible or stick your leg out of the shower stall. Im 5ft 5 and could put my back on one wall and touch the other. The very cool potty helps make up for it with a bidet, heated seat and tushy drier. Most hi tech toilet I’ve ever seen. The water fall was great and if you are adventurous (and athletic) you can buy some tubes off Amazon for river tubing and hang out there all day. To the right of the waterfall is a great spot to swim, but wear watershoes as you never know whats floated down. There’s a big boulder you can slide down on the tube but you have to walk up the mossy rocks on the house side, because climbing up the waterfalls almost impossible unless you attach your tow rope to the tree across the stream. If you plan in jumping in, swim the area first so you don't get hurt. Some spots are over your head and some are a few feet. The current just pulls you in a circle unless you don’t pay attention and go down stream for a ride. The drive way is 1 mile and if you’re there in winter snow will need 4WD. Not much sun gets in house. Looks like 5am when 10am.

Serene and Peaceful!
Overall, the cabin was very peaceful! The trek to the cabin itself is not for the faint of heart, that’s for sure. We unfortunately didn’t realize this when we arrived in the dark approaching the first gate. The signs along the way up were definitely appreciated AND needed. We would have not made it to the correct cabin had those signs not been posted every 1/8 of a mile or so. Be warned, a good 4WD vehicle is highly recommended to make your way up and down the winding gravel road with no rails. The trek back down in the daytime was way less nerve wracking and has some really gorgeousmountain/creek views. Let me also state that my husband and I are not novices to cabin/mountain stays. We’ve stayed at several cabins over the last 10+ years in various locations in NC. This cabin is definitely ideal for seclusion and solidarity. If you want some peace without cell service or the “outside world”, this is the cabin for you. The porch was nice, it had several seating options. I just wish the access to the porch from the downstairs bedroom was different. The entrance to the little porch area from the bedroom had a solid door. Would’ve been more ideal with a sliding glass door or even a door with a screen that we could leave it open. The queen bed downstairs was very comfortable, the blankets and pillows were comfortable as well. We didn’t use the upstairs beds in the loft area, so not sure about their comfortability. However, going up there just to check out the view from the windows up there was nice. Now, onto the bathrooms. I wish their was a tub, I understand there is no room for one, as the bathrooms are very small. It was just difficult to give my child a “bath”. I do have to say that I liked the bidet toilets. My husband however, did not enjoy them. He said they were too small and didn’t like how it just came on forcefully as soon as you sit down. There were also numerous spider webs and wolf spiders hanging about the bathroom downstairs. We had to be on high alert using the bathroom. The kitchen had everything you need to cook inside the cabin. It did not however, have wood for the fireplace or for the fire pit and grills. Ingles market was out of firewood as well. So my husband bought some charcoal for the grill and he scrounged up some random sticks he found laying about the perimeter of the cabin property (he only used the branches fallen on the ground- he did not break any tree branches). Overall cabin and views are so worth it :)

Pretty but Renter beware! This place comes with literally a laundry list of do’s and don’ts!
Property needs to be managed better! There are some very nice things about the property that are completely overshadowed by the bad. Smelled of moth balls (or something) upon entry and throughout! You must pay cleaning fee that seems to be nonexistent. Poor communication. We received three emails from the property each one adding more cleaning duties upon checkout! When I attempted to contact the PM no one responded back to me. When I see dust on appliances, sticky drippings on the counter and in refrigerator, cob webs in the corner of the bathroom, and sheets still in the dryer when I went to fulfill my checkout cleaning duties, it seems apparent they are charging cleaning fees and then not providing a service. Updates needed also. Fan above main bedroom has a sticker on the chain that states not to exceed low speed. That’s because it’s old and way out of balance so it shakes like it’s going to fall off the ceiling! Take the time & the very small amount of money to fix/replace it! Strip beds, wash, dry, fold sheets and comforters. Take garbage out to main can at street which is out two gates about maybe a mile away. Clean all sinks, no hair, no toothpaste, mop, sweep, and vacuum inside. Clean off porch and stairs…..the list goes on to include a note written on the bottom of the inside of the garbage to remove any crumbs! I mean COME ON! So you better wake up early on the day of check out to get it all done! This madness, for us, it took away from how awesome the place could be. I guess we could have just not done any of it, but that is not how I was raised! I try to respect other peoples property but for this reason I will not recommend or return. Gates were a bit tedious as there is a main gate with 4 locks and a key box. Had some issues figuring the key box and lock combo but once we got through that the signs to the cabin were easy to follow to the second gate which had a key pad to enter. No problem there until you go to leave at checkout you must exit your vehicle, walk around the gate (as we did with our bag of garbage) and use the keypad to get out. At least it wasn’t raining on us. Keypad on both sides would be nice. no ice trays! Oh and the bathrooms are small. Small seats, small sinks, one only shower and it’s small. Would have loved to have given this a better rating but 2star is the best I can do. Was afraid to make a fire or use anything extra at the place because I would be expected to service and clean afterwards. Hard to enjoy!

Wonderful location!
The creek in the fall with the seclusion of this property is absolutely peaceful. We ate on the deck for every meal, and made s'mores on the outdoor fire pit. We went to Boone, Blowing Rock, and hiking. Lots of chores on checkout, but worth it.

Great cabin, nice waterfall, was a little disappointing to see a road behind the waterfall but it barely had a vehicle go by every now and then.
