Old World Charm

Great location between Milano Centrale and Republica stations. You can get most places in Milan quickly. Very traditional dark wood panel style with good original artwork. Balconies very pleasant and large enough to dine outdoors with take out from nearby restaurants. Marble bathroom. Offers lite breakfast choice for just three Euros.

Good location, friendly staff, disappointing room

The location is great - short walk to the central train station. The staff are friendly. We stayed 4 nights, mostly just to sleep. Our room was dark and tiny, with a big, clean bathroom. But after the second night, I was covered in bug bites (probably bed bugs, possibly mosquitoes). Also, the power seemed to surge, as the lights would occasionally blink. Sometimes it took a few tries to get the lights to come on in the room. You have to put the key card in the slot by the main light switch by the door, and it's best to keep the door to the hall open until the lights come on...The room is VERY dark.

Just returned from our trip to Milan. The hotel is in a great location for both the metro and train station. The room was clean and comfortable. Great little balcony.

Comfortable hotel, but lacks maintenance

Our only problem was the smell in the hotel, incl. the room. They must be spraying some kind of a parfume everywhere. The smell was very strong and penetrant, it gave me a headache and breathing problem. The room and balcony were dusty and had clumps of accumulated dirt under the bed, balcony, table (I told the chambre maid, not sure if she understood me, though). The sofas in the lobby had torn flowery covers, they looked old and untaken care of, so do the room curtains (torn, unfixed). Shower soap holder was broken. So, a lot of unrepaired and untaken-care-of stuff, which is a pity, because they count so much for the eyes and feeling of order. Otherwise, front desk staff super friendly, bathroom clean, bed comfortable, water cattle available, fan for the hot days was provided.. which is super nice... (more coffee sachets would be appreciated, since the cups were big and there were only 1 coffee per cup which is not enough for a whole cup).

Walked to a different hotel.

When we tried to check in the front desk made up a story about some maintenance needed in the room and walked us to their sister hotel around the corner. It turned out to be a descent room but were disappointed with the excuses and the move.

An Acceptable Option Near the Central Station

After exploring the area around Milano Centrale, you'll see the place is thick with hotels - perhaps too thick. The competition is fierce and pricing is pretty low. Considering the old expression 'you get what you pay for', we were impressed with the desk staff and general condition of the Hotel Mythos. It looks better in person than in the pictures. That said, the rooms are small and a bit dated in best old Italian tradition, but clean and respectable enough for a night. The front rooms have a spacious balcony if that's your sort of thing. While we tried another hotel for our last night in Milan and it was much better, I can't say the Mythos was a bad deal. Also, at every hotel in Milan there is an added city tax (at this time 4 euro) per person added to the bill. This hotel asks for the money at check out in cash.

Good location close to some restaurants. Did have an annoying barking and crying dog opposite. Had wee belcany and two seats nor much of view. Bed comfortable and close walking distance to the main shopping. Clean and tidy

Great hotel

We enjoyed our stay there. It is very close to Milan Central Station as we were taking the train from Le Spezia. Hotel staff was very very nice too. Our stay was very nice. The room is a bit cozy, however, very clean.

Actually, In brief, The stay in general was fine. The service was excellent from the receptionist " Ra'oof" And the employee " Shreef" But the service was terrible by the receptionist " Necola" . He was impolite treating with me and I got angry because of his bad manner then, " Shreef" handled the problem in a good way .. .Then, I made a complaint aginest " Necola " and I want to know what happens regarding the complaint.

hidden gem

There was a last minute change to my travel schedule and I arrived in Milan at midnight. I got to the hotel and the staff kindly set me up with another room for the night, at a discounted rate and kindly helped me pay for it as one of my cards got cancelled. Upon leaving the hotel, my train was moved to 11 at night, so the staff let me use their facilities and amenities (lounge, internet, cafe) until l needed to leave. The room was small, but luxurious. There was plenty of storage, a large bathroom, and all other things you could want. just down the street there was a market that sold all the things you could want, and that are normally over priced in the mini fridges. There were lots of restaurants, ranging in price, but all good quality. The best food I had all my time in Italy came from the restaurants I ate at in Milan. The morning buffet was filled with fresh fruits and juices, pastries (ranging from waffles to doughnuts) eggs and sausages/hotdogs.

Decent hotel if needing to be near train station

We stayed at Hotel Mythos because we needed a close connection to the train station. The hotel is in a great location if that's what you're looking for, but not exactly a great location otherwise. If you need to leave early in the morning or at night, be aware that you will encounter many homeless sleeping around the hotel in the streets (during the day as well). We stayed 2 different nights with different rooms, they were very small and outdated, and we encountered quite a bit of mold in each of the showers. It isn't a hotel we'd choose if we were staying multiple nights while visiting Milan, but did the trick as we were just using Milan as a base for other travels.

Good place to stay. The hotel was very spacious and comfortable beds. The rooms were clean The bathroom however needs to to updated. having a shower curtain is not good enough as the floor gets wet and that can cause slippage and unnecessary accidents. Best to get a shower enclosure. The shower was my only let down.
