We booked this VRBO back in jan. I have 4 children. 1 whom plays lacrosse at middlebury. We were bringing the other 3 to watch a lax game and celebrate Easter as a family with friends. We arrived at the VRBO after traveling ALL day with groceries and all only to find that the instructions that were given to us were not correct. We sat in the driveway for 2 hours trying to call the property owner to no avail. I finally called VRBO customer service and they couldn't get in touch with the property owner nor the cleaning service. After 30min the VRBO cust service suggested we cancel and get something else. Well, if you are familiar with Middlebury, you know that on a weekend during spring there is NOTHING else local. We ended up having to book rooms in Bristol for 1 night and then thankfully at the swift house for another night. We changed our flights to come home earlier as there was nowhere for us to celebrate Easter. This was a complete disaster of a weekend and a very sad way to celebrate being together as a family. Around 8pm that evening I finally received a text message from the property owner stating that they were overseas and were just receiving my messages. They originally told us that it was our fault and that the door just sticks a bit. After a few back and forth messages (NO phone call mind you), they finally said it was there fault and had forgotten to turn off the master lock. At this point our weekend was already ruined. We didn't want to deal with these owners.
