Cozy and comfortable apartment, recently renovated, 50 m. from the Sasso Barisano. In a few minutes you can reach all the places of interest. Nearby you will find restaurants, bars, pizzerias, mini-market, pharmacy, etc.

The accommodation

The 75 sqm apartment, fully equipped, has 5 beds, is divided into various rooms and has two entrances.
The ground floor consists of an open space with a large dining area, kitchen with all necessary crockery and detergents, a comfortable double sofa bed and a bathroom with shower and bidet.
At the same level there is also a bedroom with a further double sofa bed (1.95 x 1.40); through this room you access the courtyard.
The open mezzanine, on the other hand, includes a double bedroom with the possibility of dividing the bed, obtaining two singles and a characteristic bathroom with shower and bidet.
On request, an additional pouf bed could be made available to the guest.
The apartment also has a large private courtyard with a relaxation corner and a reserved car park.

I can start by saying there's not going to be enough room here to list all the things we loved about our stay with Pietre and Materra! The home was located perfectly on the edge of the old city. It came with all the accoutrement you could ask for, with the possible exception of salt. Pietre was a perfect host guiding us into our parking space on a secured lot at the back of his home. He took his time as he ran us through all the elements of the house to make our stay comfortable and pleasant, allowing us all the time we needed to ask any questions we had. With a full kitchen and the addition of many extras that were included, the house also included two full baths and lots of room to roam even inside the home. We loved our stay in Materra and it was enhanced by staying with Pietre - we highly recommend this location!

We had a lovely stay at Pietro’s spacious and clean home, perfectly located within walking distance of many restaurants and the Sassi. Well worth staying a few nights to see Matera in the evening all lit up. Pietro was very responsive to our texts and we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality! Pietro our Host was wonderful. He met us at the property and oriented us to the apartment and the area. He had a map ready for us to help us navigate the city of many hills. It was perfect. The apartment has an excellent location quite near the historic center of Matera and within walking distance of the Sassi. But the highlight for us was wonderful Pietro, the owner. Not only had he stocked the refrigerator and cupboard with goodies, but he also arranged an emergency dental appointment for my husband, drove us there, and acted as our interpreter. During our stay and afterwards, he checked up on us to see how my husband was doing, and he told us not to worry about anything regarding the apartment prior to our departure. Wonderful person, very nice apartment, fabulous city.

A beautiful home just steps from Sassi

We loved the apartment, we were tired from traveling and it was so nice to see that coffee pods were available, pastries, water, shampoo. The little extras make a big difference. We were late arriving but Domenico and his father waited for us and explained all details, both were very pleasant to deal with. The location is also a plus, short walk to the piazza. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend this unit.

Love this property! So welcoming by the father of the host. It was incredibly well-equipped and beautiful. So many extras - free parking, coffee, breakfast foods, water, paper towels, soaps, etc. Great location to the Sassi. Easy walking distance to the sights. Abbiamo soggiornato in 4 in questa casa antica ma completamente ristrutturata nel cuore di Matera. Il proprietario Pietro si è dimostrato gentilissimo e super ospitale sin dal momento della prenotazione. La casa è facilmente raggiungibile in macchina, a due passi dal Sasso Barisano e dal centro di Matera. Colazione eccezionale, ci ritorneremo sicuramente!
