This is a lovely, traditional Riad in the heart of the Medina. It is very conveniently located and walking distance to the main square, several museums/attractions, and many great eateries. Staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The room itself was beautifully decorated and was very clean. Breakfast was freshly prepared daily. The air conditioning in the room was not the best and we were there during very hot time. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this property for anyone visiting Marrakech and wanting a wonderful, authentic experience!
The staff was very nice, accommodating and helpful. Once you’re in the room the WiFi is horrible and our bathroom has hair still in the shower. However, I believe it was a honest mistake and was missed. I still would recommend
Staff were very helpful. Always enthusiastic and will to offer advice or assistance. I’d highly recommend talking directly to Riad for travel arrangements coming to and from accommodation. Unfortunately we didn’t and finding it was near impossible. It would be beneficial if Riad contacted customers directly on booking. Accommodation was clean and restaurants nearby were excellent. An experience for sure and one I’d recommend
The hotel itself was great, the staff were amazing! They went out of their way to make us breakfast every morning and cleaned our room. Definitely recommend the breakfast and dinner!
Be aware as the location of the hotel is in the Old Medina “alleys.” A taxi will drop you off about 15 minutes walking distance as there is no access by car. It is a labyrinth and typically you will need to walk through the market to get to the hotel. There is motorcyclist day and night driving through the labyrinth. The vendors can be aggressive and having to walk by everyday was exhausting. It is a great experience if you want to truly immerse yourself in the culture and their everyday life.
This Riad is in a great location for access to the Souqs, Square and other tourist attractions. It’s also close to several restaurants. The food was great and the staff were very nice, polite and helpful. We would definitely go back!
We stayed at Riad Capaldi for 6 nights for our first time in Marrakech and it was just beautiful. The staff were so helpful and couldn’t have done more. The place was so clean and gorgeous - breakfast was traditional and great every day. The area around the Riad is very typical Morocco, it looks a little scary but honestly is very safe and is within walking distance of absolutely everything you could need!
My only improvements would be: no WiFi in the rooms and your 4G signal will not work unless you are on the roof terrace, so prepare for an unplugged stay!
The Air Conditioning doesn’t work very well so the rooms can get hot and if you open the windows there is no privacy, so this was a little difficult. There are no rubbish bins in the rooms, but we used carrier bags and would leave them for the cleaner so maybe consider taking some with you (cleaning was so thorough, clean towels and robes every day!!)
The Riad will offer you transport from the airport, which is a little expensive at 220MAD (£18/€22) but it is worth it as taxis just cannot get to the area - this way someone will help you get there with your bags.
Take care getting back to the Riad at night as Google maps will try to take you through the Souks - but the doors will be shut between the streets. Instead adjust your maps to take you via car and follow the roads - a bit of a longer walk but this way you can actually get through.
Highly recommend this Riad and with some minor changes it would be 10/10!
Absolutely wonderful stay at Riad Capaldi. The Moroccan hospitality was out of this world. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace every morning was delicious. Beautifully peaceful oasis in the midst of the chaotic medina.
I had a fantastic stay at Riad Capaldi in Marrakesh. The riad is in a great location - peaceful yet walkable to all the main attractions, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the traditional decor added to the charm of the experience.
Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection to start the day right. However, what truly made my stay exceptional was the outstanding service provided by Mehdi and Bader. They went above and beyond in every way, ensuring I felt welcome and well looked after throughout my stay. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made all the difference, and I can’t praise them enough.
I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend this riad to anyone visiting Marrakesh!
First time staying at a Riad and it was an experience. Hospitality was great and the breakfast.
Only point I would make is the bathrooms and toilet was quite dark as the Lighting was dim.
But overall good experience.
Our host Bader was amazing and gave us so many great recommendations. The service exceeded all expectations and the experience was all positive. He helped us book a few of our excursions and helped us navigate the surrounding area. The breakfast was also a great experience and we got to enjoy it with the rooftop view. When I come back to Morocco I will be staying here again!
I had booked Riad Capaldi which was advertised as a 4-star property and cost a substantial amount. My experience at the riad was terrible. The riad is in abysmal condition with torn and stained furniture in the rooms, stained linen and poor common areas as well. The riad promised breakfast but the breakfast was just toast, some bread with butter and jam and on asking you received one egg. The riad was further in an inaccessible location and difficult to reach except by foot The surroundings did not feel safe specially in the evening. I would highly recommend not reserving this property.
Loved staying here! Bader and Maroine were awesome!!! It’s really like staying with family!! I can’t get over how friendly and helpful everyone was!! They made me not want to leave!! They’re my new family :)
We stayed at Riad Capaldi for 3 nights in April 24. We chose it as we have stayed at the Capaldi Hotel but never before at the riad. The staff are wonderful. Nothing is ever too much whether it be advice on restaurants or how to get somewhere. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast and dinner we had were delicious. Watching the sun set over a fantastic glass of local Rosé was memorable.
Very central Riad and great attentive management , lovely rooftop breakfast and clean rooms , thank you Alistair and Sylvia . Having stayed two night at Riad Capaldi , we transferred to Hotel Capaldi which was a very tranquil hotel , circa 40km from central Marrakech . Hotel Capaldi was first class for a relaxing and tranquil stay with great staff , food , spa etc , could not fault at all , lovely hotel , pool and grounds .

A calm oasis where you can relax and hear birdsong in the middle of a busy city before wandering into the alleys of Marrakesh. Team helpful with any requests and recommendations and will even walk you to neighbourhood restaurants and sights.
