A fuir

Hotel in the Old Town

Hotel is not too hard to find, in an alley way. Just be aware en-route there - people will help but also ask for money in return. The owner is very friendly and hard-working, he is very helpful and understanding. The room I stayed in was decent size for one and very cosy. Standard size room with a double bed, a walk-in wardrobe next to it and a small bathroom at the very end. No toiletries are provided so bring your own. The place to stay it self is more like a large house with small rooms which people can lodge out like apartments. Not many guests there so it is quiet. There are seating areas on the roof and inside. Good stay if you want a more cultural experience in the depths of Marrakech - away from the new town.

Best Marrakesh Experience

I travel alot but this has to be one of my faviourite trips due to the fact that i stayed at Dar Nargis, the staff were so helpful and always went that extra mile. The manager (AbdAllah) would take his time out to often take me to local places that i required weather it be printing shop to a good local resturant. He also helped me to explore the best possible places in marroco at bargin prices compared to other excursions. The breakfast is served daily from 9 - 11:30, and everyday is slightly diffrent menu (fresh as it can get). You can have breakfast served where ever you want! The room cleaning service was superb always felt like a new room. The hotel itself is very tradiotional and you feel the marakesh culture living within the walls. I travel with my wife and my privicy was respected greatly by the hotel staff.

ryad accueillant

Suggestivo in ottima posizione.

Old style coziness

Dar Narjis is perfectly situated three streets from the parking square near Rue Larousse. It can get a bit noisy outside, early in the morning, but there are rooms without street windows if you prefer it that way. Since it can get quit cold inside during European winter months, you should brin (or - better - buy a warm shirt), and in some rooms, there's an open fireplace. They will lit it up for you for free if you ask. Breakfast can be eaten on the sunny terrace, which makes you warm from early on in the morning. A taxi here from the airport was DAM150 (I tried to haggle, but hadn't slept all night so...), but from the taxi stand near the parking lot, a taxi to the airport is no more than DAM100...

Noisy, busy area but great breakfast

Good location only about 10 minute walk to centre square however was little difficult to find as taxi only dropped us off at end of alley looking street but just follow Google maps & be very careful when walking around as locals will seem like there helping you giving directions without being asked but then harass you & demand money off you. If you have to catch taxi demand they put meter on, most of time if your tourist they won't but don't pay anymore than 25-30MAD for 15 minute drive, they try to sting you but if police new they wouldn't put on meter they get into trouble. It is very busy & can get overwhelming walking around so many people, in future we would recommend only doing day trip not staying as can see everything in 1 day. Room was clean & comfortable enough however they had just sprayed it so insects & Cockroaches everywhere. The manager was really friendly & helpful, breakfast provided was great - coffee, juice, bread & either egg, Moroccan crepes/crumpets with jams. WiFi connection was ok, sat near modem to get strong connection. There are extra charges when you arrive which are in small print when book - city tax & cleaning tax. TV in room had movie channels in English. Location however was quite noisy until late at night & early in the morning from locals in the alley right next to rooms, motorbikes etc. There is a small deli/shop which provides lollies, chips, drinks etc right under rooms to outside in alley open till late.

Riad sympa

Pleasant place to stay in the old part of town

Not for someone wanting the luxuries of a modern hotel but If you want something traditional and basic and can live live without the frills then this is ideal place to stay and for a great price. I had a great few days here, an easy walk into Medina and souks and other attractions in the old town nearby. When you get there, taxi will drop you off at the end of the street and it is a short walk to the Riad which can be difficult to find but one of the young locals will quite happily guide you for a few euros. Nice to eat breakfast on the roof terrace in the mornings and plenty of spaces to chill out and relax once you return from your adventures around Marrakech.
