Great place but has room for improvement

Great friendly staff and beautiful architecture but has room for improvement. Food is really bad from snack bar to seat down restaurant ask the guys that call the taxis for suggestion where to eat they know the best spots in town. Pool tiles are all over the pool that I felt like I was putting a puzzle together, in the room the furniture could be update, uncomfortable sofa, weird spot for tv that I couldn't watch from my side of the bed and you should put pictures of your own beautiful hotel in the room to light up the room. I loved the place but you have room to make your hotel a beautiful place to stay and start with your food has horrible.

We had a really nice stay...

We got a room with a balcony and a gorgeous ocean view plus pool view. The hotel was nice and quiet and Pedro at the reception desk was very friendly and accommodating. We got all inclusive which is totally worth it because the food is delicious. I will definitely come back.

Best days long past.

Las Hadas best days were years ago when it was newer and better cared for by its owners. Today its old and definately showing its age. There are zero activities for kids.. There is only one restaurant #40La Delphine#41 open every night. Its OK but the food there is way over-priced and pretty forgettable. The other restaurants are only open certain days of the week and even more expensive. Staff is not well trained and did not meet our expectations of a so-called luxury resort. The place smells like mildew the beds are terrible and the rooms stink of sewer gas backing up into the room through the open floor drains. Newer construction techniques have eliminated this issue. If you are elderly or find it difficult to walk long distances this is not the place for you. It was built years before there was any consideration for physically challenged guests....too much walking over cobblestone streets. If you want to go somewhere on the property they will take you in a golf cart but there are still too many steps to climb everywhere you go. Las Hadas needs a total make-over more restaurants better food and much better trained staff. I would not stay there again.

Intersting but not remarkable.

Yes the design of the property and the rooms is quite unique as you can see from the pictures but the place is rather old and tired looking throughout. The restaurants some of which arent even open every night are expensive and pretty limited in selection and the waitstaff service was not particularly outstanding. Food was only fair. Yes the staff was generally very friendly and accomodating and did their best with what they have to work with. Years ago this propery was truly top notch and very elegant but many newer and more modern hotels have long since surpassed it in both quality and service. The pool is beautiful and peaceful but the beach leaves a lot to be desired as the property is located in a protected cove and the beach is small and pretty boring. The beach and pool furniture and canopies are old and covered in mildew. Rooms were clean but there was always the faint pervasive odor of sewer gas coming into the room via the floor and shower drains. Other resort cities have so much more to offer and its obvious the crowds the money and the newer resorts have moved on leaving Las Hadas and Manzanillo in a sort of time warp. The hotel could use a make-over to bring it up to date but the owners probably cannot justify the cost because its such a big sprawling place and not that popular anymore.

Beautiful on the surface

Beautiful resort type hotel. Very large grounds - lots of stairs as it is on a cliff. Beach front property with most of the hotel cut into a very large cliff. Difficult to negotiate your way there - lots of winding cobble stone streets of the main road. Has a marina, but we did not go there. Has the most beautiful swimming pool I have ever seen. If you want to hang out at a pool for a week, this is the place to be. Water is warm in the pool and the Pacific in July. Very humid as it is on the coast. Good amount of wind and lots of sun when it is not raining. This is the rainy season. The biggest turn off was that EVERYTHNG costs extra. You have a coffee maker in your room, but you have to purchase the coffee! Room service available, but expensive. Two restaurants and a snack bar on premisis - we did not check the pricing, but judging by the prices of the items in the mini-bar/fridge and room service, I would expect it is expensive too. The pillows were lumpy and the bed was hard. The room is wall to wall marble. Everything is white. Bathroom is small but well appointed. Large glass enclosed shower. Good water pressure. We were told by a local business person who goes to Manzanillo once a month that there are better hotels at a lower cost. We picked this hotel for the last night of our week long trip to Mexico because it was on the beach and close to the airport, as we wanted to be nearby for our flight out the next morning.

Best place in Manzanillo

Stunning views, very classy hotel, very elegant. I would definitely go back. The beach is secluded and private, it has its own marina.

Beautiful Facility and a good value

On our first trip to Manzanillo we were fortunate to have chosen Las Hadas as our hotel. The road to the hotel out the pennisula is cobble stone and windy but upon arrival is well worth the trip. The rooms, and grounds are clean and well maintained. The rather small but adequate beach is in a protected bay for a safe, refreshing dip and swim. The on sight restaurants do not provide much of a selection and service was not great but a fixed price taxi ride can take you restaurants like La Toscana or Portofino which are worth the extra expense of the taxi. Try the shrimp and lobster spaghetti at La Tosana; excellent! We deinately would return to Las Hadas

Very Romantic Honeymoon

First, I want to say: "DON"T LISTEN TO THE NAYSAYERS." I have been going to Las Hadas since I was 12, and it has changed little since then. Manzanillo is not a commercial place like Puerta Vallarta or Cancun. If you are looking for KFC or McDonald's, you shouldn't come here. Manzanillo is a beautiful fishing villiage full of ocean and mountain views. Las Hadas itself is absolutely breathtaking-if you take the time to explore it, you will see all of the beauty; not just the beauty by the pool and in your room. The restaurants on site are not gourmet, and not the best choice if you want to experience real Mexico. Do your homework before you go.... there are many beautiful resturants with excellent local cuisine that are right on the Ocean. You just have to ask around. L'Recif sits high on a mountain peak overlooking the Pacific Ocean! How much more romance can you get?!? Those who have reviewed negitively must be used to a more "cheesy" vacation full of watered-down drinks and buffet food disgised as actual menu items. Go to Las Hadas. Experience the romance and cuisine as it should be experienced. You won't be disappointed!
