We stay here a couple of times per year when we visit the Outer Banks. It is always welcoming and clean, and convenient to everything in Manteo. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms with nice coastal decor. Also loe the outdoor fire pit and tiki bar and the old fashioned front porch with rope swings.

What's not to like? In addition to scoring a 10 on everything, we loved the vibe of a 1950's motel. This is not the only one in Manteo, but I doubt there is nicer room than the Lost Colony Suite. This is right off the reception area and coffee room. We were concerned that noise might be a problem with people checking in, but for our stay, this was not a factor. I don't believe there were many guests that night. If this is a concern, choose a motel room behind the house. I have to believe that the high standards cary through the entire property.

The room was fine. Newly remodeled and clean. My concern is that there was a substantial fee for each pet. I booked through Expedia, and disclosed that we had two small dogs. On arrival, I was informed that there was a $40 per dog pet charge. The manager discounted this by $15. Maybe an Exoedia glitch, but not good.

The Get-a-way.

If your looking for a motel that's more like a retreat, this is it. I have stayed here before and i always look forward to the welcoming by the staff. I like the fact that im close to the beaches, birds at pea island and the bears at alligator river.

Quiet, clean, and nice location. I would stay again. I stayed in room with kitchen. Well equipped. I would suggest adding a coffee pot (just my opinion). Coffee was in main office area, and was glad to see, but would rather have in room. Adding a shelf in bathroom would be nice for a place to put things on. Very happy with our stay.

This charming property is a short walk to the shop, restaurants and boardwalk of Manteo. The hotel is adorable and super clean! The staff were absolutely lovely. The location is a short drive to beaches, lighthouses and historic sites.

Everything was good but the picture online of the main building is a little deceiving. It is truly a motel.The room was nice except for the toenails left on the floor from a previous guest. Also no desk or table in the room so no place to eat a snack. Probably could a cheaper room and would stay in Nags Head if we go again. Much more to do there.
