The apartment is beautiful and is in possibly the best location in Lygaria. You cannot get closer to the beach and for us (a large family) it was perfect that we didn’t all have to decide whether we were going for a swim or not… the sea is right there and it’s easy to supervise the children from the garden or to join them. I sympathised with families further up the town where getting to the beach would have been quite an expedition given the steep roads.Parking was sometimes difficult especially depending on what time we arrived back in Lygaria. However we solved this by parking in the free public car park 5 minutes away and moving the car closer later in the evening (or not, some days).The apartment is very nice indeed with good sized rooms, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was great to have although a little short of cutlery and glassware (there were six of us) and a tea towel would have been nice to have. But otherwise it was good. There is a small shop for basics a few yards along the front, but we visited a Lidl in Heraklion for most food, and also ate out a bit too.Nikos the host was a very pleasant chap when we met at the start of the let (and was forgiving of our late arrival) and was responsive quickly when we messaged him a couple of times about minor issues.We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lygaria and completely recommend this ground floor apartment.
