A wonderful cabin on Hamlin Lake, with a few things of note:This is a cabin, so there is no AC; however there are provided fans to beat the heat and humidity. The water in the cabin is well water, and I would not recommend drinking it as it was very hard water and left orange stains in the shower and toilet. I believe the water filters in the shower and sinks are overdue for a change. Besides the no AC and water concern, it is a lovely getaway! It is very close to the state park and is within walking distance of its own private beach with a dock. For the most part the rooms were clean and there was plenty of space to relax.

It was my fault for booking a cabin with no AC during the summer, but I did request an extra fan (was told I could a couple weeks before staying) and it took me asking again a day later to have it delivered. I would say that bigger and stronger fans during the summer months would be helpful. I would also suggest getting a showerhead with a removable handle. Everyone in my family is 5‘8“ to 6‘3“ so that was a little difficult. Also, I wanted to use a glass bowl from the lower cabinet and it was not clean. My daughter said she found moldy beef jerky in her bed, that was made, the first night she stayed and I also found a water bottle behind the couch. Not sure how long the cabin was sitting before we stayed, but at least wanted to mention that. I would suggest more specific parking instructions, which side of the road to park on and somehow letting people know it’s difficult to turn around to get out. I hauled a horse trailer, so I had my F250 and ended up having to back down the driveway from the road to park at the cabin, because it was very difficult for me to turn around at the dead end area. Overall, it was a cute spot, just not ideal for our family.
