Great little place in the heart of London!

Though this apartment is small, we loved our time! We were able to walk to incredible restaurants, Hyde Park, Kensington Palace, museums, and tube stations. Grocery stores and shops were also nearby. And it was an incredible price! The area felt very safe and friendly.

Looks can be deceiving

Much smaller than we ever expected. 4 of us and 2 of us had to sleep on a futon in the main room, that took up all the space. Bedroom was very small with no flat surfaces to put things, suitcases had to be on the floor, no room for walking or standing. Main room had one small "dining" table that worked as a flat surface for things like charging electronics etc. Everything else on the floor, no room for 4 people to sit. A dorm size refrigerator, a hot plate, a kitchen sink too small to wash anything, no place to do any food prep or eating in the unit. The bathroom was big enough to turn around in, no more. We were there a week, 4 old, scratchy towels were all we got, we ran out of toilet paper. It was dirty, hair etc on the floors, mold on the shower curtain. No windows so no fresh air or sunshine. It was very noisy as there is a restaurant/bar that shares the "garage" to get to the unit. Late into the night we could hear talking, dishes being washed, bottles being dropped, broken... No way would we ever recommend for more than 2 people. And, if you are 2 you need to be okay with no where to put things in the bedroom, a dirty unit, and no way to cook/eat in the unit, no fresh air, and lots of noise. Our first experience with VRBO and probably our last. So disappointed in the experience.

Great location near Hyde Park

Was lovely taking the kids to the playground at Hyde Park in the mornings and eating at the tasty restaurants in the neighborhood. Let Supermarche was a good place for groceries.

This was a perfect location,close to stores, tube station etc. The pictures were accurate. Place is small but cozy, you can keep this GSM in the refrigerator but can only cook possibly an egg or something small. The host was very helpful we really enjoyed our time in London and only slept here. The restaurant upstails or behind one of the walls was loud until about 11pm but not a big deal.

Not quite what we expected

We found the flat to be clean on the surface, but after being there for a while found that there were issues with maintenance of taps etc, the table was wobbly and the wardrobe falling apart. The worst problem was the musty smell in the shower, and the shower drain was blocked and we had to clean it. The smell came from the shower curtain and the drains. The plug in the sink did not work as the mechanism was rusted solid. There was black mould on the shower tiles. The tap in the kitchen couldn't be moved as it was seized up which made using it very difficult. On the positive side the wifi and tv worked very well, the flat was in a convenient position for shops, restaurants and overground and underground travel.

GREAT LOCATION, GOOD VALUE

We are a middle aged couple from California. Our reviews are based on two main factors: is the property as advertised and is it good value? In both cases the answer is yes. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the apartment is larger and much brighter than the photographs and description indicated - it is small but we did not feel cramped. The kitchen areas is really for coffee, tea, toast and maybe an egg. There is plenty of hot water and the underfloor heating works well. The bed is comfortable. The apartment is in a mews house. It backs onto a restaurant so there is the occasional crash but any noise was finished by 10 at night. There is a great pub on the corner and a french patisserie/bistro Lerclerc & Laurant about one block away where you can get the best croissant outside of France. The location is hard to beat - a two minute walk from Lancaster Gate tube station, 8 minutes from Paddington, three minutes from Hyde Park and maybe 12 minutes from Marble Arch. (Lancaster Gate is closed through July 2017). In all, we spent a happy 5 days in the apartment at a price of maybe 1/3 of surrounding hotels.

Charming cosy home

This apartment is situated down a small cobblestone street and tucked under a staircase in a small garage/courtyard. It's darling. Centrally located to the underground station, a bakery, a few eateries, and Hyde Park. Granted, it's small but nice and quiet. It was perfect for my sister and I on her first excursion to London. Our host was readily accessible via SMS and answered the couple of questions we had quickly. I would recommend this place to a couple or a family with one child as it is not spacious. However, I don't think you'll be disappointed by the amenities, cleanliness, and location.

Un logement très bien situé pour visiter Londres. Un peu bruyant surtout lorsqu'il fait chaud !

Un superbe séjour ! Le logement était correct, mais nous avons eu jusqu'à 37 degrés et la nuit, nous devions dormir avec les fenêtres ouvertes. Un restaurant surplombe le logement et les cuisines donnent dans la cour. Très bruyant le soir jusqu'à 23 h. Nous nous sommes accommodés, car la situation était idéale pour visiter Londres. Un accueil un peu précipité après une mini-enquête pour entrer en contact avec le propriétaire...après tout nous étions dans la ville de Sherlock Holmes !!!! Ensemble positif avec tout de même quelques bémols.

Très bon séjour

Loué pour 2 adultes 1 enfant.C est propre, la literie est très correcte. Le descriptif est en accord avec à la réalité, coin cuisine est petit et sommaire pour vs lancer dans la cuisine mais pour prendre le petit déjeuner c est parfait. Le débit de l eau de la douche est très faible par rapport à nos douches françaises....il u a un peu de rangement. Le mec du restau d à côté un peu pénible avec ses bouteilles qui vient vider dans le container et vu que c est une petite cour, ça résonne pas mal ....bon ça dure pas longtemps et c est entre 23h30 et minuit. Et pour les supers entendants il y a comme un bruit sourd récurrent "le métro " mais perso étant un peu sourde je n ai absolument rien ressenti et entendu. C est proche des métros lancaster, gare paddington et de l arrêt de bus pour la navette " stanted" pour nous. A proximité bureau change. Restau. Épicerie. Et même au coin de la rue , 3mn, de quoi prendre au petit dej à la française. On s est déplacé tard 23h00 minuit sereinement dans le quartier sans crainte, Pas de contact direct avec le propriétaire, tout par message et tél, il s est montré courtois et disponible. Hyde park est à 5 mn maxi à pied. Pour notre utilisation à savoir y dormir se doucher et prendre le petit dej se logement est satisfaisant je ne mets pas très....j adore les douches avec beaucoup de pression. Il est tres bien placé.séjour

Pratique et bien situé

Appartement très bien situé à 2 mn du métro (Lancaster Gate sur la ligne Central Line), des bus et de Hyde Park. Bien équipé (tout ustensile de cuisine, micro-ondes, sèche-cheveux, produits d'entretien et même des denrées de première nécessité) et accès wifi. Propriétaire disponible et réactif qui a remplacé la plaque de cuisson défectueuse dans les plus brefs délais. Bien pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants , mais juste si 4 adultes. Seul bémol les bruits venant des cuisines du restaurant italien donnant sur la cour attenante à l'appartement. A conseiller pour un prochain voyage à Londres."

Very nice flat, very kind owner!

I was in London with my wife and two kids 7 and 4 yo. Everything was just fine: the owner was extremely kind and friendly, the apartment was very clean and comfortable, despite not big. In my opinion it's perfect for couples. It was ok for my family for 3 nights, I would choose it again for my next stay in London for equal duration (few days). It's located in a very quite neighborhood, close to public transport - tube and bus. Just perfect for visiting London. I recommend it!
