About this property

Accrington Farmhouse

Accrington is a heritage 1886 farmhouse, nestled in the heart of a working 420 hectare sheep and cattle farm. A rural hideaway that warmly evokes the rich farming and coastal history of Banks Peninsula. The farmhouse will immediately pull you into the simplicity of farm life: a unique coastal country escape.
Accrington is a place to reset and reconnect; with yourself, your family, your friends, and with nature. Perfect for getaways, group retreats and gatherings and road trips with friends.
Accrington has eight bedrooms and can accommodate between 1 - 17 people. The design of the house ensures it to feels cosy for all group sizes while the upstairs loft and separate Honey Shed provides space for larger gatherings.
The original farmhouse is crafted from hand-cut timber milled from the property over 150 years ago. Lovingly restored inside and out to meld seamlessly into the natural folds of rolling grassy paddocks and tranquil garden full of blooms and bird song.
Catching all day sun the charming retreat offers an endless number of ways to unwind. Brunch on the morning veranda looking across the garden to the paddocks. Reading on the front veranda watching the wood pigeons swoop by and feed from the giant pohutakawa tree. Watch the kids enjoy the play ground or have a chat to the friendly sheep in the orchard paddock. Long lunches and dinners in the garden and nights snuggled up with a board game by the fire.
Explore the area on foot with numerous public and private walking, cycling and hiking trials. With a range of stunning beaches within 5 - 15 minutes away their are endless options to swim, surf, kayak, paddle, fish, boat or just lie on the beach.

As soon as you arrive at Accrington you will feel like you are home and never want to leave.
Enjoy exclusive and private use of the entire house and garden. The property is fully fenced with lots of space for the kids to run around, there is plenty of parking for vehicles and boats.

Hens party
We arrived to this amazing location, the house was perfect and immaculate with lots of personalised touches and a note from Annabel. We had awful winds but they did everything they could to ensure our stay was great. Would definitely go back 5 stars xx

A lovely place to celebrate
We had such a lovely time celebrating my 40th at Accrington farmhouse - it was cosy and had everything we needed. Annabelle was very easy to communicate with, had some great suggestions for catering, and set up a lovely table for us in a separate 'seed shed' for a celebration lunch. I would definitely go back!

A perfect place for a midwinter family celebration
Accrington was the perfect spot for a mid winter family gathering to celebrate an 80th birthday. Warm, comfy, absolutely everything we needed in a lovely setting - and far enough from home to be an adventure without too much travel. The new "seed shed" room was a great venue for our multi generational party - thank you to Annabel for making our stay so enjoyable, and to the Craw family for sharing their little piece of paradise with us.

Fabulous place to stay
The homestead was the perfect place for our family celebration. The venue was excellent, very tasteful decor, extremely comfortable beds with hot water bottles on each bed. Very well stocked kitchen suitable for large groups. Lovely gardens and great playing areas for children. We made good use of the outdoor table, sun drenched verandas and lawns. Added bonus was the local beaches and cows in the back paddock. Excellent communication with Annabel and Hamish. A wonderful property. We are looking forward to returning.
