The facility is a group of apartments located around a central garden. So relaxing! The staff is precious. The office manager is a wonderful person who cares for each guest as if they were family. I would repeat the stay!

We loved this hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, especially Bonnie who kept our room spotless…anything we needed they provided. It’s not a modern property but we preferred the roominess of having 2 bedrooms and close to many restaurants. There is a great little coffee shop next door with delicious pastries we went to every day!

False advertising!

The housekeeper was the only redeeming quality of this hotel. When I booked, I only wanted to look at hotels with air-conditioning. This hotel said it had air conditioning, but when I checked in, I had a fan. I found out only one unit actually has air conditioning and the rest don’t. Also, the armoire in the bedroom smelled like mildew as did the bathroom. Too many red flags with this place.

Surrounded by a Street Market

The room was nice and quaint. The lady who checked us in knew little English but was really nice. We missed breakfast one day because we didn't know it was coming. The next day the nice lady delivered breakfast in picnic basket. It was nice. We parked for free in the lot across the street. Problem was no one told us a street market happens in that parking lot on Sunday. Our rental car was surrounded by venders. The police had to get involved to help us get out of the parking lot. It was stressful. Be aware.

Be aware of what you book.

We were intentionally downgraded to an inferior room, as the management felt we got too good of a deal on the booking site we used to book. We booked and paid for two nights in a one bedroom unit with kitchen. We were checked into a studio with a tiny fridge and nowhere to place luggage. Upon addressing this with the staff, they offered to move us but it was too late at night and was not suitable as we had already settled in and were busy with plans.

We loved the Storytellers Villas. The location in Sintra was perfect for us, with the bus stop right across the plaza. Our villa had 2 rooms and 1 bathroom with plenty of hot water for washing dishes and showering at the same time. The beds were firm but not uncomfortable with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The floors were wood with floor runners. The son of the owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The house keeper had breakfast, continental, ready between 8:30 and 8:45 daily. Our rooms were very clean and always made up when we arrived back from excursions. I would definitely recommend this establishment.
