I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the room was fairly clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is also convenient—just a short distance from downtown Kincardine. The biggest drawback was the noise. Our room was near an exit, and because the building is old, sound insulation was poor. We were constantly disturbed by the slamming exit door and loud room doors that required force to close. Hallway conversations and footsteps from the floor above were also clearly audible, making it hard to sleep. The complimentary breakfast was also poorly managed. Although it was supposed to go until 9:30 AM, food had already run out by 8:45 AM on Friday. On Saturday, it ran out again and wasn’t replenished promptly. Many guests left disappointed. There were also buckets placed throughout the hotel to catch leaks, which gave the property a neglected feel. Overall, while the staff and location were positives, the noise, poor breakfast service, and signs of disrepair made this a disappointing stay. With improvements, this hotel could offer a much better experience.

Completed discusted!

We have stayed at this hotel and was always satisfied, however this time we where discussed with the cleaniness of the otherwise nice room. Finger marks and smears all over the mirror's. The toilet needed to be cleaned before using, there had to be an inch of dust on each headboard. Baseboards had not been cleaned in god knows how long. Common services where covered in marks, l would hate to still be in the middle of Covid. Muffins for breakfast were buried beyond eating and no cream to put in our coffee. When we compained to the owner he had housekeeping come do the room again, but he never checked it or he would have seen they did a very poor job. Only leaves me to conclude he didn't care as he seemed disinterested when we told him at the desk. The one bright spot is the woman who checked us in and out was lovely, none of this was her fault. However as we told here in a business were customer service is vital to its survival, we will never book there again.

I was sadly disappointed. For some reason, the batteries in the hallway smoke detectors kept running out. One of the nights one of the detectors beeped every 30 seconds all night. Seconly, on my second day there, they completely blocked off the front entrance. We couldn't get into the normal parking. It would have been simple to leave a little note in our rooms telling us of the reno and pointing us to the new parking and the right entry. I ended up at 5 doors, with my hands full of heavy packages before landing on the right one. It's just poor customer service. However, I do have to say that Gail and the staff were very nice.

The room and staff at the front desk were great, we got a kitchenette and a king size bed which was spacious and comfortable, however the bathroom could definitely use some extra cleaning. The walls were dirty, towels had some hair on them witch is hard to control, there was a centipede in our bathroom, we did leave a wet towel on the floor and understand it’s harder to control bugs in the spring/summer but they might want to deal with that before it becomes an issue, the breakfast was not good, the pancakes didn’t come out looking good enough to even try, the sausage was white and the bacon was barely cooked, eggs had that kinda staleness to them, ended up having cereal and a yogurt cup. The hotel definitely needs some renovation on the outside entrance area if you take a look at the roof but that really doesn’t affect the stay. Depending on farther reviews would decide if I stayed again.
