Terrible — the host (Chris Wirth) cancelled our reservation on the day of arrival after the 3 PM check-in time, around 4 PM.We never received the 2 PM message the host later claimed to have sent. Nothing appeared on the booking platform or directly to us. The first message we actually received came just before 4 PM, an hour after check-in time. Shortly after, the reservation was cancelled on the platform by Rachel without any explanation. I immediately replied that we were already on our way and even added another credit card to resolve any potential issue, but no one responded.What makes this even more confusing is that we had already received confirmations beforehand: trip cancellation protection on Feb 19 and a full booking confirmation with access codes and instructions for 175 LEX on Feb 26. If there had been a payment issue, it’s hard to understand why no one contacted us until the day of arrival, when we were obviously already traveling.We only saw the messages around 7 PM when we stopped in Cincinnati and had to scramble to find a place to stay that night. Traveling with a newborn and a dog made finding last-minute accommodations esp. difficult, and we couldn’t reach Chris by phone or Rachel through the platform.Even stranger, we booked two other properties on VRBO that same day using the same credit card and both payments went through without any issues. So cancelling last minute, lying about when contacting us, made this a terrible, untrustworthy experience.
