This larch clad, single storey property boasts a beautiful veranda commanding breath-taking views of rolling countryside. Accommodating six guests in three en-suite bedrooms, Strawberry Lodge is the perfect base to enjoy all that Rutland, Leicestershire and the surrounding area has to offer. Situated in the middle of a working farm of 200 acres, with mixed produce of sheep, arable, geese and turkeys for Christmas, you are well away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy this wonderful county with its many attractions.

Central to four market towns – Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Uppingham and Oakham (all of which are within 10 miles). Also just 10 miles away is the city centre of Leicester with the National Space Centre. The nearest village is Billesdon, just 5 minutes in the car and has a wonderful village shop, doctor's surgery, post office, two pubs, an Indian restaurant, church and community centre with tennis courts. Rutland Water is just 12 miles away, where you can sail, cycle, bird watch, fish along with enjoying a super aquatic children's play area.

Strawberry Fields Forever!

Fantastic setting and views all around the property. Property is lovely and works exceptionally well for relaxing. Loved the welcome pack and appreciated the follow up call to make sure everything was acceptable. Enjoyed seeing turkeys, geese and pheasants around. One small thing - the TV was too small for the room and 6 people to view. We had a lovely relaxing time.

Excellent location

On arrival the owner had provided a welcome basket that contained much more than we would have expected. They also contacted us on the night of our arrival to make sure everything was ok. The property is situated in a beautifull setting and was very well equipped. All of our party would happily stay there again.

Great Break

We arrived at the lodge on Monday evening- 5 adults who were looking for a relaxed short stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rooms were nicely decorated. The property was very clean and well equipped. Bedrooms were slightly smaller than they look in pictures but this was not a problem as we still had ample space. The kitchen and lounge is open plan, again slightly smaller than it looks but big enough. The decking around the building acts as an extension of the lounge and allows you to take in the lovely views. All the the essentials are provided- pots, pans, cutlery, an iron and ironing board, towels and some toiletries. We also received a lovely hamper of food, some fresh strawberries and other food items in the fridge- a very nice touch. Claire, the Property Manager answered calls and was very helpful throughout our stay. We visited Rutland Waters which is a short drive away. Bike riding and boat activities were fantastic. We also went for drives as the views alone, are beautiful. Our group consists of five very different characters. Overall; this trip met the needs of us all. We would all recommend this property to others for its style and location. We will definetely visit again.

Peaceful get-away

We were 6 friends reunited for a weekend catch up and found Strawberry lodge to be a perfect location. In the middle of rolling fields with geese and sheep as neighbours it was a lovely weekend. Beautiful lodge with all you need for your stay. 6 large bedrooms (all en-suite) and a lovely combined lounge/kitchen/diner which was perfect for socializing. A generous welcome basket with local produce was very much appreciated. Lovely country walks or just sitting outside on the veranda was all we needed but there was also plenty of places to visit. We will most definitely be back.

Ideal rural getaway

Strawberry Lodge is a perfect rural location for a family or group getaway. It is spacious, modern, well equipped with all the amenities needed and immaculately clean. Check in and check out are efficient and simple, and the owner helpful if needed
