Hotel was clean and nicely decorated with plenty car park spaces.Stayed in a twin room, which was spacious and well equipped- tea & coffee facilities, bottled water and biscuits were a nice touch. Nice bathroom with plenty hot water and powerful shower. Breakfast was good included bacon and sausage sandwich, selection of cereals, pastries, juices, toast. We ate at the bar both evenings- food was good and portions were very generous. Extremely good value for money stay, we would highly recommend.

Excellent hotel choice with a great location and ready advice to explore The Yorkshire Dales we even booked a lovely 4 poster room as a birthday treat, outstanding service provided throughout our stay. Restaurant food was amazing for both dinner & breakfast, which was much better than we expected for a continental breakfast having additional Bacon & Sausage on Toast on offer surprisingly, and set us up for the day ahead. Thank you so much, looking forward to staying with you again soon Brian & Ann Wigan 27-05-25.

Very friendly and accommodating and they love dogs. Clapham village is very pretty - the location is beautiful. The cave is definately worth a visit. Good size family room. Nice continental breakfast.

Great base for walking.

Great location for exploring, food average and a bit pricey but the only place to eat in the village. Good sized room but not freshened daily. Heating on in hottest week. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Nice self serve breakfast with sausage and bacon sandwiches, cereal, croissants, fruit juice etc.

Nice Hotel; Shame About the Karaoke

The room was great - spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The hotel bar area was good - simple but stylish. Decent range of beers on offer. Food was okay. The breakfast offering consisted of cereal, pastries, toast and either sausage or bacon sandwiches. Pretty poor options for vegetarians, and very poor for vegans. We ate in the restaurant on one evening and while the plant burger and chips was okay, the portion was small and the measly salad was very limp. Pretty overpriced at £19. Our last evening (Sunday) was somewhat marred by the horrendously loud karaoke session in the bar, which we could very clearly hear from our first floor room. It went on from 19:30 until 23:00. Not easy to get to sleep with all manner of songs being loudly crucified by the seven or so out of tune participants in the bar. Clapham is a great location from which to access this spectacular part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Inn was ideally situated, not too far from Settle and Malham Cove which was beautiful. Very welcoming and a special smiley reception from the delightful Poppy. Francesca too couldn’t do enough for us as we enjoyed Happy Hour and Over 60s good prices on evening meals. We’ll be back!

One night break in an outstanding place

Stayed in the family room which was great, spacious, more than just one big room and with a huge bathroom ( photos attached ). Nice little touches in the room such as bottled water, biscuits, etc. A bonus that we were able to take our dog. Everything in the hotel was well thought out. Breakfast was good included bacon & sausage sandwiches. We ate in the restaurant that night, all our meals were of a very high standard especially the steak one. The building was full of character, staff lovely and the village was well placed for things to do in the local area besides being very pretty and quaint. Ideal spot for hiking/ walking. Would highly recommend.

Good for the price.

Stayed for one night in room 20 which is a family room. The room was spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee facilities, USB charging, plenty of sockets, large bath and roomy shower. It is also well laid out for a family room with 2 separate areas. The double bed for the grown ups was good, although the sheet could have been a little bigger as it kept coming off and wouldn’t tuck back around. But the 2 single beds were disappointing, the mattresses were thin and my daughter could feel every spring in the mattress, luckily it was just me and her in the room so we used the duvet from the second bed to make the one bed more comfortable. Just as we were getting ready to check out I bent down to tie my shoe and noticed a beer can under the bed, along with lots of dust so it didn’t seem there had been a thorough clean. However, the bathroom and elsewhere was clean. Breakfast was good, it isn’t a full breakfast but there’s sausage and bacon available for sandwiches and plenty of ‘continental’ options. The croissants were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all for what we paid the room was spacious and well equipped with a good breakfast - if the mattresses on the single beds were replaced we would consider staying again. We have family in the area so visit frequently but this was our first stay at New Inn.

This hotel was easy to find. When we arrived the staff were amazing and helpful. We had one problem with the room because it didn’t have enough beds, however the hotel manager was so helpful and sorted it out straight away. The food was nice and most importantly the beer was amazing!

Great hotel

Fantastic place to stay. We used it as a base to visit the lakes and dales for a couple of days. Hotel/pub was in a lovely little village. We were in the Superior room which had a lovely view overlooking the river. Room itself was big with a nice comfortable double bed. Cleanliness was ok, room had clearly been cleaned however just a few marks on the wall. This didn't matter too much or affect our stay. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Could have done with some toiletries (no shower gel provided). Breakfast was fabulous - pastries, cereals and full English and great quality!! We ate in the bar one of the evenings, food was good and reasonably priced. Parking was free. Staff were nice, in particular Dave who was great and couldn't be more helpful!!! We will definitely return as there is so much more to explore in the area and would 100% choose The New Inn as our base.
