This is the second year we have gone over Presidents Day weekend. We had a very good check in experience. Z helped us find a room that was right for us. Food in the main dining is good. The family buffets have room for improvement. We missed a few of the activities from last year (2024) like movies in the night for kids and yoga classes.

Grand hotel with some service issues.

The property itself is beautiful. They made a huge error, not putting our two rooms near each other so our family had about a five minute walk in between rooms. I had called the morning of our check-in to confirm that our rooms would be near each other, but they were in separate buildings. This was very disappointing. The lobby is beautiful and we enjoyed that space very much. This weight staff in the restaurant was excellent, but the food was mediocre best. We had difficulty getting a reservation for dinner after in advertently booking the wrong night. And we had to wait a long time for a shuttle pick up.

The hotel has an awesome location; views of the White Mountains are breathtaking. Very peaceful and quiet area. Gondola ride to the top of Mount Rosebrook was a lot of fun. Spa was very relaxing. Great bar in the Cave! The only issue we had was that the indoor pool was closed for maintenance.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely mini vacation. Everyone was friendly amd helpful. Stickney's restaurant is fantastic! We enjoyed the spa as well. The spa is beautiful and the staff pampered us. Can't wait to go back!

Not what it used to be

Beautiful historic property with fantastic views and nearby skiing. Not many reasonable food options available. We ate at nearby Fabian’s (owned by the property) which has really gone downhill. They used to have a full menu of decent choices. Now it’s glorified fast food - burgers and tacos. The queen bed in our room needs to be replaced, sagging in the middle. And they’ve recently added a parking charge which is absurd and unheard of in NH. It feels petty to nickel and dime guests for parking their own cars in the huge half empty parking lot or letting you park for free if you’ll take their shuttle.

The resort has a lot of character, a historical gem. The staff is courteous and professional. It is pricy but you get what you pay for and a view that can not be beat!
