The location of this hotel is EXACTLY why I will be booking again. Despite the condition of the building, it is literally in the center of the Tahoe City community. Across the street from Commons beach, dining and shops next door, and a 7 minute walk from the nearest grocery store! The location cannot be beat.

Safety concern hopefully about to get fixed

It was fine, 1 exception: the stairs were damaged and a sign asked us not to use it and the elevator clearance expired a year ago. It’s a seven story building. One of these items should be in deemed safe and neither were. Stairs could be newly damaged so hopefully this was a rare exception at this hotel.

Don’t stay!

When we first arrived there was no parking in the parking lot. The only worker for the hotel came out and was trying to get people to park their cars so close to each other. Everyone was gonna get door dings. They asked us to put our car in the parking down underneath the hotel when we went down there my car bottomed out and scrapped underneath it’s a very tight space and I didn’t trust leaving it there. Secondly our room was very hot. There is no AC available I asked for a fan or somebody to fix our window so we could get air neither of those things happen. The next morning I woke up with bites all over my legs and a very sore back the mattresses are thin and hard. The pillows are old, thin and discolored. Friends that were staying with us took pictures of bedbugs in their room. I fear this is why I had bites on my legs. Our ice bucket leaked so we had to keep it in the sink in the bathroom. For $200 a night I feel like some response or refund is needed. Neither happed. Also they do not have a pool it’s filled with dirt and bark. Definitely love the area and the convenience of the hotels location but won’t book again.

Walking distance to the beach and town, which is very convenient. However, I was surprised there’s no A/C, and the room gets extremely hot, which gave me headaches. Internet was also quite slow. For an extra $50, I’d choose a place with A/C for more comfort.

Laying on the worst mattress in a noise chamber

Check-in was rough with the lady's lack of warmth and customer service. She babbled on an on with her coworker as several of us were waiting for check-in. No greeting whatsoever and no care about our time. The real nightmare was trying to sleep on a mattress made of rocks next to a highway. It felt like punishment as opposed to vacation. The location was fantastic but it come with a very uncomfortable price. Not impressed and will not return unless this place makes improvements. Horrible 👎👎

Great - Staff were friendly and the property is convienently located. The room was on the 7th floor and had a great view of the lake. Not Great - I didn't realize how busy this area of Lake Tahoe had become. It was REALLY noisy outside. Mostly construction and the noise of vehicular traffic starting at ~5am and going on until late at night. This combined with our room not having AC mean't that we had to try and sleep with the windows open. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep while we were there.

Overall, the property is centrally located and priced appropriately for what you get. However, it is very dated. - The elevator is small - fits no more than 4 adults, it’s very slow, and the permit is expired by a couple of years. - The rooms are small and old, but since we used this as just a place to sleep, the size wasn’t an issue. They do use a room spray, like febreze, that was quite overwhelming when we first got into the room. Highly suggest you keep the windows open to ventilate if you’re sensitive to strong fragrances as I am. -Beds were comfortable and clean, pillows were fine. - The parking is a bit of a hassle since we couldn’t fit in the underground spaces with our truck. Coming back after 9pm, we had to park on the street. - There’s no a/c which we were aware of but there is a fan and window in the bathroom that gives a good breeze. We didn’t feel comfortable keeping the front window open as it was right next to our bed and opened to the walkway. There was also road construction overnight during our stay so the sound was too loud to keep the window open anyways. - Check-in is slow as the front desk/lobby holds 1 person at a time so you wait outside if there’s multiple guests checking in. Also, our keys didn’t work the first try so we had to haul our stuff back down to get them to work. - There’s NO pool. It has been filled in with dirt and seemingly some lawn games and a coffee trailer. Not an issue for us but something to note.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room had everything we needed and the hotel is in a great location. They need to take more pride in the outside. The walkways and elevator was filthy and uninviting. It looks like nothing has been swept nor cleaned in the outdoor walkways and elevator for at least a year.
