Horrible customer service! Guests beware!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Booked on line and paid in full thru hotels.com. When I gave my credit card for incidentals I was charged again full price for hotel when I checked out. I brought this to staffs attention who said this was "negative" charge. I was not! Working all week to get charges reversed. I have receipts for both charges. Keep getting run around from holiday inn... no manager available, I don't have code, I'll have to look into this..... excuse after excuse!!! No choice but to take this up further and report fraud to credit card company and report them to the Better Business Bureau. While hotels.com staff have tried to help, still no resolution after a week.

We booked a suite with 3 beds for a 1 night stay. Very conveniently located near downtown South Lake Tahoe. Scooters across the street were a bonus for getting around. Breakfast was great, parking was very easy. Clean Rooms.

This property was a very pleasant stay. I was a little apprehensive because my experience staying at the Holiday Inn in Carson City was atrocious but because of the reviews I decided to give it a try. Very glad I did. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable. Not fancy but very nice and the location convenient and walkable to everything.

Shopping, restaurants and casinos are all just a few minutes walk away. You can even walk to a private beach within 15 minutes walk. Good breakfast included with your reservation. I have stayed at the hotel several times and quality has been consistently good.

Great hotel

This is a great hotel in a great location. Staff was very friendly which is always a big plus. The room was clean and in great condition. Bathroom was a nice size. We also enjoyed the pool and the hot tub.

Very central to everything and walkable. Only downside for my son especially was the WiFi connection wasn’t very good (but only because he’s a gamer). Overall I would stay here again.

First, the property is extremely old and poorly maintained. The room we were given had a strong, unpleasant odor that made it uncomfortable to stay in. To make matters worse, our room was located directly above the reception area—an odd placement that offered no elevator, which was quite inconvenient, especially with luggage. The worst part of the experience, however, was the front desk staff. The person on duty was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I requested a room change due to the smell and location, he flat-out refused. Strangely, when my wife made the same request shortly afterward, he complied. This behavior felt like blatant gender discrimination, and it's completely unacceptable in any service-oriented business. Despite having prepaid for the stay through Expedia, the hotel placed an additional $945 hold on my credit card. When I called to inquire, the same front desk agent told me to “talk to my manager” and then hung up on me. I’ve tried following up several times, only to be given different excuses with no resolution. Overall, this was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Between the outdated facilities, the smelly room, the unprofessional and discriminatory behavior from staff, and the unexplained credit card hold, I would strongly advise others to stay away from this hotel.

Enjoyed the location which was walkable to anything up and down the main street blvd. Ease with check-in, parking, room was quiet, beds comfortable, A/C available and working, and bathroom was clean. The issues we had were that the hot tub was not working the day we arrived, and on the following day both the hot tub and pool were closed due to inspections and work being done. We were so disappointed. This was one of three primary amentities we were interested in when booking this property.

Hotel was walking distance to everything. Very convenient location. The room we stayed in smelled like the carpet had gotten wet and never dried. Remotes didn’t work for the TV. We tried to check in early and were told they don’t do that? Breakfasts in the morning were basic but good. We paid a lot of money to stay because of the gold tournament but I would never stay there again.
