The first and second floor public areas were elegantly done. Amenities were nice. However the rooms were significantly neglected. Specially, the rooms had basic non smart LCD’s, 32 inches TV’s. No Netflix, YouTube etc. The ceilings and tiles in the rooms were decades old and cracked. Cheap old furnitures. The mattress was sitting on plywood. The beddings need to be thrown away and replaced. Very old. Floor tirles were cracked and had several chips. Curtains were ragged and window panels dusty. Couches/sofas had stains of variable ages. The hair dryer in bathroom was the oldest I have ever seen in a hotel as an avid traveler. I will rate the public areas 8/10 and the rate the ROOMS 2/10. Most hotels I have stayed at in Lagos, including mainland and Island were much better. The balcony was nice to have. But It definitely does not worth the price tag as a luxury hotel. I would say it is false advertisement. I will try to attach pictures. With that said, if you don’t care about where you sleep and care more about the public spaces, then you would like Black Diamond. it’s specially disappointing because this was advertised as a luxury hotel.

It’s a spacious room and safe place. Breakfast was good. You need to carry a local payment card if not local currency or USD for payments. International cards are not accepted. The WiFi coverage was very poor in the room that I stayed.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious: I could eat them omelette every day of my life. I also loved the range of bread options there were, so I wasn’t just eating toast all the time. The bed was beyond comfy. Regardless of the quality of the breakfast, there were times were I had to skip it because I couldn't get out of bed. Mind you, I had one whole bed to myself so you could imagine how good I felt in it - Isaiah Amazing hotel. The area around it may seem a bit dull but inside is a dream. The view of the lagoon was nice, the room service and housekeepers were friendly, the front desk associated were “ usually” friendly . The food at the restaurant was nice also good. The main issue was the power at the hotel going off at least 3-4 times per day.
