Overall amazing!

Spent our anniversary there and from the moment we walked in we felt like complete royalty. The staff is amazing and are open to answer any questions you have. The biggest fear at times is going to a beautiful resort with somewhat not good food, that was surely not the case here! Just be prepared to travel an hour from the airport to the resort. Also, if your room is somewhat far from the restaurants & the front desk they offer transportation! Unfortunately we didn’t know & use them until our last couple of nights of stay. If you’re looking for a relaxed time with your spouse this is it. If you’re into more of the party & nightlife this may not be it. I believe it has potential but if you’re with a group of friends it’ll definitely be an awesome time.

NEVER returning again

Pros: The swim-up bar staff was very hardworking; unfortunately, the resort severely under-staffs the bar areas
HORRIBLE experience. The rooms looked like hospital rooms, right down to the hospital curtain separating the bed from the "bathroom" area. The room was dirty, with spiders everywhere. The much-touted minibar had barely anything in it, and did not contain any bottle opener so we couldn't even drink the one coke that was in there. We requested a bottle opener 3x the first day and 2x each day thereafter, and NEVER received a bottle opener. We attempted to try all the restaurants, but despite specifically advertising them as being open until 11 pm every night, when we attempted to go to dinner at 9:30 on Sunday and on Monday we were adamantly denied service at every single dinner place other than the mexican restaurant. The staff at Oceana/Seadside Grill were especially rude. My father is disabled and can't sit down to eat - we had a discussion at check-in regarding this, and were assured that they would notify the restaurants so that we could simply go to a restaurant and pick out food, and then take it to go for him since he couldn't sit down to eat. However, when we attempted to do so, the restaurants refused to accommodate us. We ended up eating a lot of room service, which was not very good food. Additionally, despite claiming they had free wi-fi, our phones did not work at all (even after we downloaded the resort app and despite paying for an international phone plan ahead of time). Only one road to get to the resort, which is a VERY long and bumpy drive. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Amazing pools, great service

We recently stayed at the Dreams Las Mareas in Costa Rica and had an amazing time. The resort is beautiful even though we went during the "dry" season so the jungle was not very green. I think it would be even more beautiful during the rainy season to see the lush green jungle. The drive to the resort is kind of long and the roads are not the best but once you get there, it is all worth it. The resort staff were very friendly and helpful, the pools were amazing, and the beach was decent. We definitely would go back to this resort.
