The house is located in the village of Makrychori, a picturesque village at 560m altitude on the eastern slopes of the Dirfis mountain range in Central Evia. At a distance of 2 kilometers are the Manikia climbing fields, in just 5 minutes the visitor can visit and admire the virgin fir forest of Seta with its famous mushrooms, natural lakes and rivers for winter, and not only, escapes. In front of the house begins the path that leads to the gorge of Makrychorio (place of Spilies) as well as to the CANYON climbing tracks. A stone’s throw from the house, one can find the traditional village tavern “Patridos Gevsi” and enjoy wonderful traditional recipes of Evia. At a distance of 20 kilometers the visitor reaches Kymi, the Balcony of the Aegean, where he can enjoy the traditional sweets of the region. In central Evia, where we belong, you can see very beautiful places such as the waterfalls in the village of Manikia, the “Spring of Kolethra” in the village of Agios Vlasis, famous and pristine beaches with clear blue waters such as Tsilaros, Thapsa, Murteri, Stomio, Platana, Korasida, Kalamos and many more, for summer getaways, combining relaxation and fun.

This is a beautifully restored traditional house in a stunning mountain village, very close to all the climbing areas in "Manikia". Extremely well equipped, with all basic supplies, and lovely gifts of olive oil, wine, eggs, and homemade cake on arrival. There is a little seating area outside where you can sit and watch the comings and goings of village life. The village taverna is next door, serving great food, which was really convenient since closest other taverna is a 15 mins drive away. Fabulous cafes in the square in Manikia 5 mins away...lovely Iannis and Katarina serve a mean breakfast omelette. Fantastic rural base for climbers or anyone who appreciates traditional Greek culture and scenery.

Nice Apartment, mostly very quiet.
Nice Apartment, very close to the street. But luckily there is practicly no traffic. Only the child speaks english. Communication was by SMS. So Check-In with the parents was a bit complicated. But they are very friendly and tried to communicate as much as possible. The welcome cake was really good and we got also a lot of fresh eggs.
