The highlight of my trip was this hotel. The hotel offered a lot of amenities that I didn't know it had when booked originally. It's walking distance to the bus station which had shuttles from Tokyo and to Gotemba which made our Japan travel so accessible. The hotel also offers their own free shuttle that goes around different stops in Fujiyoshida along with Lake Kawaguchi so you definitely have options of things to do and places to go. The hotel also is located walking distance from an amusement park (free admission when booking with the hotel) along with a few cute theme 'parks'. The food was amazing with a lot of choices (buffet, western restaurant, and japanese restaurant). The room we booked was huge...maybe a little too big for two of us but I'm not complaining. Our room faced Mt. Fuji and we were lucky enough to have a clear view of it. I'm definitely booking here again. It was so worth it.

Resort was a perfect mix. One side had a grand view of Mt. Fuji, the other side looked out into the theme park (Fuji Q Highlands). Hotel Guests had free access to the Onsen next door and had an enclosed walkway for access. The onsen was clean and had a great payment system for items you need (vending machines, souvenirs etc...); electronic bracelet that allowed you to purchase from venders & souvenir stoors. Final Payment for services at a kiosk on the way out.

Staying at the Highland Resort Hotel & Spa was an incredible experience from start to finish. The convenience alone is fantastic — the Highland Express bus drops you off right in front of the hotel! But the moment you arrive, you realize this place is something special. The hotel is stunning — it almost feels like stepping into a movie scene, especially at night when the lights twinkle beautifully. The lobby and rooms are spacious and elegant, and we were lucky to have a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji right from our window. Waking up to that view every morning felt surreal. And the breakfast buffet? Absolutely unforgettable. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a delicious meal while looking out at the majestic Mt. Fuji. The hotel offers so many great amenities — access to one of the best onsens, private entry to the theme park, and shuttle service to nearby attractions around Mt. Fuji. Everything is thoughtfully designed to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. But what truly makes this hotel stand out is the staff. The team here genuinely cares about their guests, and their kindness and professionalism go above and beyond. A special thank you to them for helping me recover a bag I had accidentally left on a bus — they took the time to contact the bus company and provide me with all the details I needed. We booked an executive suite with Fuji view for 3 nights. However, we noticed some problems with the room the first night. The hotel staffs were very attentive and upgraded us to a bigger room. In general, everything is good for rest of the trip.

The room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. The view of Mount Fuji was exceptional. We appreciated having a couple of extra seats and plenty of room for luggage. We did wish that the bed had more than two pillows. We looked around but could not find any extras in the room itself. A couple extra pillows would have made for more comfortable sleeping. The east access to the amusement park as well as the Onsen were added bonuses. However, it is important to note that accessing other areas of the town from the hotel is very difficult by foot, especially this time of year when it gets dark early. The free shuttle was convenient, but didn't run very late in the evening so wasn't something we could rely on to get dinner. Having easier access to the sidewalk near the hotel would be an improvement.
