This was a nightmare. I knew the hotel would be older but chose it because the Wyndham name was on the hotel and that signaled to me that it would at least be clean and safe. I did not feel safe, secure, rested, or comfortable the entire time and dreaded returning to the room. Upon arrival entrance was not well lit for arrival after dark. Room had an unbearable smell of urine and cigarette smoke, and stains/smears all over on walls and high touch areas. Corners of room showed accumulated dirt, hair, dust & water damage. Stains behind night table and near bed resembling human fluids, blood smear on hair dryer. The stench was so bad I purchased cleaning supplies to disinfect areas. One side of the bed was broken/caved in and not usable, pillows were limp and barely filled, linens/towels were flimsy. No in-room coffee and no breakfast - needed to walk to reception desk for a coffee machine that had many options blocked out.
First night: a man was listening intently at another room’s door. Second night: key did not work and needed to get replacement key from desk. Third morning, 6:20 am, woke up with spider bits; went to use coffee by reception desk and the staff member was sleeping on the couch.
All staff were oddly hesitant to provide a receipt and seemed to brush off all concerns about the key issue. The only good part of this stay was that we made it out alive and well (apart from spider bites, insomnia, stiff necks, and out $20 for cleaning supplies)
