The room smelt of mold. We had 2 rooms (1 separate for our son and 1 for my husband and I) and the second night I stayed with family as the smell of the room was making me sick. In our room the wallpaper was peeling off the walls. The shower was a joke. A trickle at best so we had to have a bath.

Super stay, great location. We will be back !
This property is ideal to stay in whilst visiting family. Located in a lovely quiet setting within easy reach of Croxley / Watford by car. Parking is free and plentiful. The staff are fabulous and make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble, the breakfasts are amazing and the bar with its open fires are charming and you can get an evening meal too. We have stayed 3 times in 2023 and will be staying again throughout 2024. Rooms are a little tired but are clean, spacious, warm and are so peaceful. What more can you ask for

Staff were friendly and helpful as always. Have stayed In this room on several occasions and being of a certain age had always found the bed very comfortable . This time not so much, feel it could do with replacing? Otherwise food and atmosphere was spot on.

We had a friendly greeting on arrival and the staff were very helpful. The food was very good and the restaurant was cosy and festive. The rooms were comfortable, although one of them rooms was a bit chilly. It was a lovely stay and we would certainly stay again.

Traditional building with good features such as beams and open fires. Hotel area in need of re-decoration and looking tatty. Room clean and comfortable but needed some decorative attention - below television evidence of radiator removal that needed proper decorating. In spite of this would still stay again.
