Would highly recommend the Fairview, which is located in the center of town. Parking at the nearby car park for 3 Euros per day was convenient. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was excellent, and the room was spacious, clean, and quite comfortable.

Awful night time staff. Anne had terrible interpersonal skills and behaved in a childlike manner. She called herself the manager; however untrue. She was the only staff person available. She was rude. She gave terrible directions. In Ireland roads have names and numbers. Numbers are more visible; however, she "doesn't deal with numbers." Apparently that's why she couldn't direct us as we were traveling in the dark on low battery. She refused to give me the corporate contact and in fact, removed the cards. The parking for the hotel is across the street and up a block or two. Her directions were that it was across the street. McSweeney's was across the street. Also, the directions to the parking machine was unfamiliar to me as a US citizen. No directions were given Additionally, the set up in this "Supreme Double" was weird with two single beds around one double bed. The outside of the hotel is beautiful. Angela in the restaurant was wonderful and the breakfast was delicious.

Casual luxury in downtown Killarney

Superior hotel at a reasonable price. Beautifully decorated and furnished and yet confortable and not fussy. Large rooms, modern bathroom, and a lavish Irish breakfast in the morning. Highly recommend a stay at the Fairview.

Wonderful experience at Fairview's Copper Kettle

Pros: Location, decor, size, amenities, friendly staff
Cons: Our only complaint at all is that the bed was a little lumpy. They need to upgrade that mattress.

We were booked for a regular room at The Fairview, but since we were staying for 5 nights, the owner suggested that we might be more comfortable on the ground floor of a bed and breakfast they own about a block up the street. It's called the Copper Kettle. They upgraded us for the same rate per night. WOW, what a beautiful and spacious little apartment it was, with a living room, bedroom, kitchen/dining room, private terrace, water closet and shower room. It was wonderfully decorated, and with a refrigerator and microwave we were able to save money on food. We could have even cooked our own meals if we'd been so inclined, but being able to buy our own water, beer and snacks -- and to take home leftovers from restaurant meals for lunch the next day -- was a huge bonus. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and this location is the perfect base from which to explore the town, the national park, and all the other nearby spots. Easy to take day trips to the Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula. We were so sorry to leave this little retreat in such a lovely town. We will be back!
