Maine getaway

Although the weather didn’t cooperate very well, the house is cute and served our needs. The walk to the beach is super close, like accross the street! The water view is pretty but remember it’s tidal so mud when we arrived turned into flooded marsh and “lake”with the high tide. The kitchen is unique in that I’m 6’2” and on my tip toes I’d touch my head to the low ceiling! But the beds were clean and comfy and we enjoyed our visit.

Cozy and relaxing

This cozy cottage, a short walk to a wide, walkable beach, is a lovely place to get away with beautiful views of the marshes out the back window. Overall relaxing place for your getaway. Host was helpful and responsive.

Excellent place to stay

We were so happy with this property. It was extremely convenient to UNE, Kennebunkport, etc. Beach access was across the street and the wetlands abutting the property were so beautiful.Inside, the house was so much more than expected. Every space was well designed for maximum efficiency and so well appointed. The kitchen had EVERYTHING we could need and so much more.We rent properties with great frequency and this home did not feel like a rental with the bare minimum of necessities. We even saw the special allergen friendly baking supplies that we use.

Quick getaway with mom

Easy and just what we needed for a change of scenery. Beach proximity was amazing and the beach is great for walking which is what I had hoped. Cottage was well equipped and clean. Jill was an excellent communicator.

Beautiful even over a frigid weekend in February

Loved our stay on the edge of the marsh! The house is adorable and well equipped. An ice storm the day prior to our arrival made pretty much every walkway in Maine (and in the driveway and walkaway to the house) an ice skating rink, but we managed not to break any hips. So peaceful watching the ice flows and ducks traveling down the marsh creek. The shells on Goose Rock Beach were plentiful and the seals that watched (laughed at?) us from afar as we prepped for a polar plunge (we chickened out after experiencing significant pain in our feet on our testing run approach) were really cool. Saturn on full display and owls hooting made the nights wonderful. Would love to experience this house in another season. The only issue we had was that the house was a bit cold at first and the space heaters throughout were essential to stay warm. The first night the space heater in the 1st floor double room died (never to be resurrected) just as I was falling asleep. This made for a cold night, but I moved to the twin bed room with a working space heater the next night. Shower also was helpful with good pressure and heat. Definitely bring binoculars, as we wish we had. Day trips to Portland and Kennebunkport were also fantastic. We hope to come back again!

Cute cottage in a fabulous location

This cute little cottage is perfectly located overlooking a marsh and across the street from the beach. I had a peaceful, relaxing weekend enjoying the quiet off-season atmosphere with long walks and gorgeous sunsets on the mostly empty beach. The house: kitchen well stocked with everything, great views thru the windowed living/dining area, the hot water was hot, and just a short drive to Maine st for all the shops. I would definitely stay again. Property Manager was very responsive and communicative.

Amazing weekend on the salt marsh

Our family took a quick weekend trip to do some birding and enjoy some nature walks. What a great house in an amazing location! We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the marsh every evening as the sun set. The house was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. It was cozy and comfortable, with plenty of games for entertaining ourselves after dark. It was close to nearby attractions for day trips. The owner was very responsive when we had questions about the heater. We highly recommend this place!

Perfect pace for a Perfect get away!

The "QMBC" is adequately named! It's a 5 minute walk to GRB ⛱️ and we also enjoyed hanging out in the Adirondack chairs watching the tide come in and out, kayaking at high tide

Third year in a row staying here

Love this house. The best of both worlds. The marsh in the backyard for beautiful views and listening to the tide rush under the bridge is so tranquil. Able to fish and put kayaks in from the yard. But also only a two minute walk to the beach. We choose this house time after time bc we appreciate that we can bring our dog bc it wouldn’t be a vacation without him. Jill the owner is always so great in the chat before and during our stay and we are grateful we found our forever summer rental.

Perfect Maine Getaway

If I could rate this property higher than 5 stars, I would! Location was absolutely perfect, the house was clean, comfortable and welcoming. There's few other rentals that offer everything you need and want in the home (towels, linens, all of the outdoor equipment you need to have fun!) Our family loved walking to Goose Rocks Beach, kayaking on the marsh, and grabbing muffins from the general store in the morning! It's a short drive to Downtown Kennebunkport or Cape Porpoise, giving you access to all of the best attractions, activities and restaurants in the area. Jill's excellent communication was much appreciated as well! She answered all of my questions from the first inquiry until the day we left, and was always so friendly and personable. It felt like renting a home from a trusted friend! This was our first trip to Maine but it will not be our last. We hope to be back soon!
