Awesome Place to stay

Get away trip right before 4th of July for my husband and I. We had a great experience. Staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. Everything was very well cleaned and maintained. Close to Metro station, area was beautiful and safe. Close to museums and nearby restaurants. Planning to stay there again.

Decent but could be better.

Beds were not very comfortable. Had some kind of plastic under the sheet that made it very hot, plus the air conditioning was not able to keep the room temperature down to a reasonable level despite being set on maximum cooling and fan. Extremely hot and uncomfortable during the night. Other than that, good stay, but expected better for the high price.

This hotel was not family friendly at all. A security guard came out to scold our children for playing with a ball on the yard after the Fourth of July BBQ. They were told they needed to leave the premises and scared off. I later asked to speak to a Security Supervisor and waited almost 2 hours to have someone speak to us. The “supervisor” was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. We were later told children are in fact allowed to play in the lawn by another staff member and were surprised the children were scolded to begin with. The service at the Lounge was shockingly poor. We had to waive down 3 different servers in the span of 30 minutes and were told they would be right back to take our order and never came back to greet us or take our order. When we finally went to the bar and requested them to send out a server …we ordered 3 apps and drinks and after over waiting an hour, nothing ever came out. I’ve honestly never experience such horrible service from an establishment and would never return. Lastly, the Fourth of July BBQ was over priced and not worth what was advertised.

Sabrina at the front desk greeted me with warmth and a genuine smile, immediately setting a welcoming tone for my stay. Charles was equally kind and always willing to assist with anything I needed. Zachary and Austin were incredibly accommodating—particularly during dinner at Dogon. After our swim, my five-year-old nephew was cold, and Austin thoughtfully brought him a blanket so he could stay warm and comfortable at the restaurant. It was such a kind and unexpected gesture. Gonzalo was a true standout. He called me in advance to confirm my check-in and followed through with a warm welcome in person. He made sure I felt heard and taken care of throughout my stay. Initially, I booked from Tuesday to Thursday, but I extended my trip three times—first to Friday, then to Saturday, and finally to Sunday—because I enjoyed myself so much. The spa experience was phenomenal. I had two full-body massages and a facial. Francesca and Dewayne, the massage therapists, were amazing, and Lisan, who provided my facial, was kind and professional. Their attention to detail and ability to make me feel completely relaxed were deeply appreciated. One of the things I was most excited about was staying at a Black-owned hotel.
