Safranbolu'da butik bir konak yerine, ertesi gün uzun yola çıkacağımız için otel zincirine güvenip Dedeman Karabük'ü tercih ettik. Küçük yerlerde standartlar değişebiliyor, yatak rahat olmayabilir diye düşündük. Yol gürültüsü veya başka detaylar ikinci plandaydı; bir otelin asıl görevi, dinlenebileceğiniz rahat bir yatak sunmak. Malezya yağmur ormanlarında baraka gibi yerlerde kaldık, orada bile sırtım bu kadar ağrımamıştı – yataklar rahattı. Ama Dedeman Karabük'teki odada yatak baş aşağı eğimliydi, ortası ve kenarları çökmüştü. Öyle gıcırdıyordu ki, 6 aylık bebeğimi uyutup yatağa yatırdım; ben kalkarken sesine bebek uyandı. Mecburen bebek arabasına koydum, orada rahat uyudu. Sabah sırtım ve boynumda acıyla kalktım – arabada uyusam daha iyiydi. Bu yatakları kontrol etmeden hizmete sunanlar, lütfen bu işi bıraksın. Hele Dedeman gibi bir zincirde böyle yatak olması, otelcilik anlayışına tamamen aykırı. Lobide çwkirdek kahve ikramımız var diyeceğinize asıl işleviniz olan, insanlara rahat yatak ve uyku sağlama işini yapın kahveyi başka yerde de içeriz.

Otelin yeri merkezi, odalar temiz, ferah, aydınlık, otoparkı var, personel güler yüzlü, sadece kahvaltı için çeşit çok azdı peynir çeşitleri, zeytin, paket reçel, tereyağ vardı. Yumurta, melemen ve hazır donmuş böreklerden vardı. Benim için sorun değil yeterliydi ama çocuklar pankek, patates kızartması falan arıyor ve otellerin genelimde de bulunuyor. Onun dışında kalıaçnır güzeldi.
