Very nice property. Clean, well-equipped, and well cared for. However, it is unattended - no staff whatsoever. I did not receive check-in info in advance, and there was no posted phone number for help (had to find on Facebook - seriously!). Would stay again but only by booking directly at Lodge's web site (to minimize communications lag and related issues).

Kanab is a beautiful small city and I'm eager to return. The property is nice. THERE WAS NO STAFF ON-SITE. I specifically did not stay at a national chain motel. When I had to call to check in, the phone number was CALIF! This motel is remotely operated from CALIF! I'm livid that my money went to Gavin Newscum. No one cleaned the room each day, no one brought new towels, NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE WHEN THE A/C DIED. I need to know how to contact the owner as I want a refund.

The property was so easy to get in and out of. We had one hiccup with the door code and didn’t get a response for a while, but housekeeping was on site and we were able to sort things out. Them being pet friendly was hugely helpful.

Great retro motel but needs onsite staff

First the good and why I would definitely stay here again in the future: the newly renovated rooms are totally charming, comfortable, and memorable and match the darling midcentury exterior. The shower had great water pressure, the pool was fun, and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, the most “modern” part of the lodge is its lack of any onsite desk staff. This became a problem when we wanted to extend our stay from 2 to 3 nights and I had to try multiple numbers to speak to someone who could help me. I booked my third night through the management company directly and even though we were staying in the same room without any housekeeping services, we were locked out of our room between the checkout and check-in times of 11-3 when neither of our room key codes would work. The lodge is a bargain but I’d happily pay an extra $10/night to have a person on site during business hours.

We had a delightful short stay leaving early in the morning to go hiking was clean and comfortable. The only thing we did not like was the loud air conditioner, which also was retro. The refrigerator worked great and were very authentic. The lights outside where didn't notice the curtain again building
