Night in Poland

Room was great. Bathroom was awesome. It was a great stay. We ate at the restaurant and the meal was delicious. We would stay here again. The towels were a bit stiff other than that a great visit.

A nightmare

Can you imagine a hotel without front desk crew ? I arrived at Dresden coming from Czech Republic , very tired. So I decide to stay there to rest. When I went to the Hotel for my surprise , everything was locked , no living person there to open the door , I had to call a phone number from Berlin , to be "remote assisted" and even doing this , the doors would't open. The pin pad to type the code they gave me to open the front doors wasn't working. Fortunately one guest came out to smoke and opened the door for me. There where 3 room magnetic cards at the front desk and I had to call Berlin again to know wich one should I use to finally check in. The internet was also down. I will never recommend this S for anyone. Very unpleasant.

Cozy and comfortable

We stayed for 3 nights and arrived past midnight. The hotel doesn't have 24-hrs reception on duty. Thus, it's essential to inform the hotel for late checked-in so that the hotel would give you the access. The hotel's apartment room facility with kitchen is superb! Unfortunately, wifi access isn't the best as it's only work in the lobby area and need different password for every device to be connected. All brochures about the city and surrounding are mostly in German language. Despite that, the hotel price is reasonable.

Great place

The hotel exceeded my expectations. It is clean, the service is polite, the rooms are big and comfortable. A couple of things to keep in mind: It is a bit far from the centre of the city but there are tram lines 4 and 6 which are within walking distance. The front desk is closed at night and so if you are checking in late, you should keep that in mind. Also, the wifi can be a bit spotty in some of the rooms.

Surprised by size and neighborhood

Room was big and comfy. Plenty of space, more like a service apartment with kitchenette, rather than a hotel room. A short walk (3 min to the tram station) and river (10 min), where lots of nice restaurants with amazing views. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, but perfect for a relaxing stay.

All good but with a few glitches

PROs: Very large and clean room. The hotel is a bit far from the center, but public transport is available. Nice garden where guests can have breakfast. CONs: Wireless internet not available in the room and in the breakfast area. Only in the reception area. Breakfast basic and unexciting. No coffee/tea in the room. Cooking equipment in the room minimal. Overall still a not a bad hotel.

Nice, quiet hotel

Nice hotel close to the tram. Only real complaint was that the pillows were very flat.

Be sure and call if making a late evening arrival

I loved this hotel! We made the reservation around 9:30 pm on the same night of arrival while driving toward Dresden. We did not call the hotel after making the reservation and learned we should have. The front desk is not manned after 10 pm and we arrived around 10:30 pm. We had to call the 24 hour number and they walked us through the process of getting into our room. We reserved a room for four people but because the reservation was not received before the end of the working day a room was not prepared. The hotel made this up to us by putting us into two rooms instead of one. This was just fine with us. One of our rooms had a smell of smoke however which is strange since the hotel is non-smoking. Perhaps the previous guest did not observe this rule and the room was not cleared of this smell before we arrived. The hotel has huge rooms and is a great price. We will visit again. If you stay here, take the time to walk over to the river and enjoy the sights there. If you bring kids with you they will probably enjoying feeding the ducks, geese and other birds near the river bank.

Good hotel in Dresden

Overall very good. Although the hotel was outside the city centre, the excellent tram service from a nearby terminus only a few minutes walk away from the hotel made it very easy to get into the centre. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I would use the hotel again for a future visit

Hotel Prinz Eugen Dresden

Traveled to Dresden with my two children and stayed 3 nights at Hotel Prinz Eugen where the location was just outside of the city but an easy walk to city transit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating assisting with all our needs.

Great little Hotel..on the outer fringe.

Very comfortable, Large rooms, separate kitchen area. All the necessary amenities. Very helpful staff, Free Internet. Was a bit taken aback when first arrived as it was well into the suburbs, However as the tram stop is just a couple of minutes away, and the frequency of the tram service, turned out not to be a problem at all.

Room to sleep 4

The room was nice, the staff were helpful, the only real problem was that the room sleeping 4 was equipped with 2 twin beds and a pull out sofa. The bed, I was told, was VERY comfortable. The sofa bed.....I KNOW, was NOT! It was hard as a rock. For the price, I would sleep on it again! If you are going to be sleeping on a bed....book it!

Excellent base for seeing Dresden.

The hotel is about three minutes' walk from the terminus of the number 4 tram in Laubegast, a salubrious suburb of Dresden. Less than half an hour, and you are in the City Centre. Buy a Dresden Regio-karte (ours was 32 euros for 72 hours), and you'll get excellent value in travel and free/reduced entry to museums/sights, etc. Prinz Eugen is excellent value for money. We had an extremely spacious room, which was more like a flat. The breakfast was without doubt among the finest I have had in any hotel. I like my bacon, egg and sausage, all of which are available and enticingly presented. Full English breakfast is therefore an option, rare on the Continent. The staff are helpful, and businesslike. Book, and enjoy a lovely City and area.
