Kalgan Retreat - Pet Friendly Country Retreat, Albany

This 2 Bedroom Chalet is spacious and bright, with 2 King sized bedrooms and a large bathroom. The Kitchen is suitable for a family feast, with everything one could want or need.

A sand pit and play area for the kids, with plenty of room to kick a footy.

We are a pet-friendly retreat. Your well behaved dog/s are welcome at our Retreat, but please arrange with us at time of booking. We have a large well fenced back yard area for your dog to play. You are welcome to leave your dog in the enclosed yard, whilst you venture out sight-seeing. (please refer to our 'Doggy House Rules).

Our Property is located on the Kalgan River (a short walk down to the rivers edge), and a 15 minute drive into Albany. We have private access to the Kalgan River, where you can swim, fish or kayak. We have 3 kayaks you are welcome to use if you'd like to have a paddle along the river.

The bathroom is bright and spacious, with a large shower, on beautiful clean rainwater.

The Laundry is equipped with a front loading washing machine. A family sized clothes line is outside for your convenience. We supply most condiments - soap in the bathroom, laundry powder, pegs, dishwashing detergent etc.

We also have a well equipped Pantry with oils, herbs, seasonings, cereal etc. We provide a few complimentary items on your arrival in the family sized fridge.

The BBQ out on Alfresco is awesome on a warm summers night.

We have a King sized bed in the master bedroom. You can choose to either have a king sized bed or 2 long single beds in the 2nd bedroom (please advise us at time of booking). We also have a fold-out bed to accommodate a 5th person if required. (Maximum 5 people per booking).

Fantastic Farm Stay

Great little property with direct access to farm animal interaction for the kids. Clean and Comfortable Chalet for an extended stay with very reasonable pricing. The host was also always accessible and friendly (and helped the kids out with the animal interactions). We will definitely be coming back!

A wonderful stay

Our week was great. The chalet was beautiful and very well appointed. Our dog was made welcome by our lovely host, Bianca, who made sure everything we needed was provided and ensured our stay was very special. We hope to return in the near future and will certainly recommend it to family and friends.

Excellent accomodation and location in kalgan.

The house is very modern and exceptionally clean. The dog yard is huge and very secure, it is a perfect place to just sit and relax with your pets in the afternoon after a day out. We really enjoyed being out of town and it was actually nice to stay on someone’s property. It felt very homely, secure and safe.

Home away from home!

We found the property extremely clean and very homely. It had a private run for your dog/dogs which was good to see. We would recommend the place if you’re looking for somewhere just out of Albany

Perfect

Spacious, clean, bright, comfortable accommodation on a lovely property with some farm animals. My daughter loved visiting and feeding the goats every day. A large fenced in area to leave dogs. Great location approx half way between Albany and Porongurups. Owner friendly and available if needed. Would love to stay again.

Albany family farm stay

Great location, beautiful property outside of Albany on the Kalgan River. Accomodation was clean and well presented. Owner operator was fantastic with kids and family and allowed supervised access to farm animals which the kids loved learning about and were happy to get involved with. Great experience for our kids. Highly recommended!

A Perfect Retreat

Just returned home from a wonderful week staying at one of the cottages based on a beautiful farmstead in a quiet location. Accomodation was clean and had all the mod cons including a super fast wifi well sized bedrooms, bathroom and living area. the benefit of a very large fully enclosed area for the dog was an absolute bonus for us.. Highly recommended and will definitely return when back south.. Mark & Anna & Kids

Escape to the country

A perfect location to escape to the country with our family. Peace and quiet on a beautiful property with a surrounding country farm life. Our fur family member enjoyed it as much as we did, with walks along the road with cows and sheep in the paddocks. Accommodate was excellent and the location was only a short trip out of Albany. Highly recommend it for a country stay.

Peaceful and relaxing

We had a lovely 5 night stay, the property was beautifully presented, clean, comfortable and with adequate supplies. It was a peaceful location, very relaxing with a lot of bird life but not far either from Albany, Emu point, Middleton beach etc. to visit and explore. We would definitely stay here again.

Modern, spacious, clean accommodation with plenty to see and do.

We were very impressed and surprised by the spacious clean modern accomodation. We were a family of four and had more than enough room. We were greeted with some complementary local strawberries (which were delicious) and some carrots to feed the horses. The kitchen was so well equipped it had everything you could think of. Also, there was plenty of information left out about all the tourist attractions and recommendations for food etc. There were plenty of beautiful farm animals and the property itself was really well maintained with beautiful gardens. There was a very secure fenced area for our doggo at the back of the accomodation so we were comfortable to leave her there for a few hours while we went sight seeing during the day. Property rolls back on to the river so was also great for the dog to have a swim and for us to go kayacking. The property owner Glenn was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We had an amazing break and will be sure to return.
