Stay Cut Short Due to Foul Water and Stink Bugs
We were in town for funeral services, the evening of our check-in, the host reveals there's bottled water in the fridge for drinking. He explained they do not drink the water from the tap but do wash laundry & bathe using the water from the tap. This information isn't disclosed in the listing. It was getting late when we arrived & we were tired. We didn't check the water & only used the bottled water provided & were off to bed. But, before we hit the sack, I had to vac. up stink bugs in the main living room as they were crawling around on the walls and ceiling. Once that was taken care of, we were finally off to bed. It wasn't until the following morning after we ate & were getting ready to shower that we noticed the stench of the water, an almost methane or gaseous odor. We used bottled water to wash our faces, hair & brush our teeth. We hardly slept due to the over use of fabric softener on the bed linens & even the towels were saturated as well with the scent, to hide the stench from the water most likely. There were a pair of socks by the bedside from the previous guest, we assumed, since they weren't ours. We left them there & informed the host. The lawn wasn't cut & there were discarded cigarette butts on the ground, toilet is loose & shower knobs are broken. After the service, we loaded up and informed the host were leaving. The host responded the following day with "thank you for your feedback." I requested a refund & the host replied "there's a no refund policy."
