This property was advertised as an ‘Elegant Villa’. It was in fact infested with cockroaches.(There was also an oversupply of stored items including some apparently redundant items. Many of the utensils including knives and other equipment were found to be unclean).We were asked to vacate and then pressured to leave as soon as possible so the place could be fumigated - the Host was expecting a full houseful for a month after us and it could not be lived in for a week after fumigation.I was not given a full refund. My wife and I were not given any help to find or to pay for alternative accommodation. After we moved to alternative accommodation the Host (a VRBO “Premier Host” who we never met & who lives in USA, reliant on others to manage & inform) finally gave a promised refund for unspent nights two weeks after our return to UK - but only after we chased and reminded.I was not given a refund for unspent nights by VRBO.The refund received does not cover the cost of the alternative accommodation we found at short notice.This spoilt our stay and ultimately our holiday.NB Beware the occasional unannounced but rapid late afternoon / evening passage of the noisy fogging vehicle as it sprays clouds of anti-mosquito insecticide out the back along the South Finger roads of Jolly Harbour covering all including side vegetation – and us once unfortunately! Such fogging is carried out throughout Antigua but operations are scheduled elsewhere with advice to keep inside with
