Stunningly beautiful hotel, great location

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, close to sights, beautiful hotel, kosher
Cons: No free Internet
We had a great experience at this hotel. The place is beautiful, and just steps from the Old City and other tourist sights. Everything was impeccably clean. When we were there, the health club was not finished, so we received a reduced price for our room, which we were ok with. Some nice hotels are simply a comfortable way to experience a new place--this hotel is an experience itself. If you appreciate art and design, i would highly recommend staying at this hotel. Every feature, from the windows, to the furniture, to the books, to the color of the fruit in the lobby was carefully chosen to reflect a unique but elegant style.

worst rooms ever

We stayed in the Mamilla hotel in Nov/Dec 2009. Excellent staff and sevrice. Pool still unfinished. Rooftop restauurant also not finished. Great location. The biggest problem is the MULTIPLE DESIGN ERRORS in the rooms. The glass walls of the bathroom allow enough light to escape (even with the windows rendered opaque by their cool technology); this will wake your spouse if you decide to use the bathroom during the night. The lighting is so dingy that it is impoossible to shave or apply make-up in the bathroom. No drwaers in night stand. No hook to hang towels/robes. Square toilet seat looks unusual and feels wierd. Go the the David Citadel or Inbal instead. If you are Shomer Shabbat, you may desire a light in the agthroom and will be particularly unconfortable in this hotel. Oh, the beds are too hard and the piloows are too soft. The shame is that any uneductaed couple forced to spend a week in this room could have solved all these problems! The designer/engineer should be embarassed!
