My family and I booked this hotel for our vacation in New York. The location is great if you want a more economic stay while still having access to Manhattan. The ferry runs every 15 minutes and the bus stop is right across the street. While the hotel itself was great, I will say that we had quite a hiccup while staying here. When I was checking in with one of the employees, Hamel, I forgot to sign to confirm my card. Hamel told me to insert my card again. My card was charged twice. He didn't bother to look if the first time inserting my card had charged me. When I brought this up to him, he was unwilling to help me, saying that the money would be released once I checked out five days later. This was unacceptable and I asked for the manager. Serge was beyond amazing. He was able to fix the problem and explained the process to me and even gave us breakfast on them.

As many have mentioned, the location of this property is excellent: a few steps to the ferry, a few more steps to the bus. (As an added little surprise, we found a monument to the site where Burr and Hamilton had their duel right by the bus stop!) Find out as much as you can in advance about the ferry bus service in Manhattan. We found it to be a bit confusing and ended up walking one night from the theatre district to the ferry, which was NOT FUN. It was a super busy weekend right before Christmas though, and the city was jammed and the routes we changed. Plus we suck at directions! The hotel is nice. We had a deluxe double with partial city view. The view was beautiful. The room was spacious and clean. It would most definitely be an improvement to have a microwave and fridge in the room. They lose points for that. Also, the $25/ night parking fee is unnecessary. They have a huge lot with plenty of spots. Even on one of the busiest weekends of the year, it was not nearly full. The parking fee, as well as the $9.95/day wifi charge and lack of basic ammennities just cheapens the hotel brand. In spite of that, we will be staying here again on our next trip to NYC, The location just can't be beat! I guess that's why they get away with extra charges and lacking ammennities.

The room had two Tv’s in them, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. We didn’t turn the one on in the bedroom to late night and when we did it was broken. We watched the TV in the living the rest of the stay. We did not report the broken TV assuming that the Mgmt. knew about it and we didn’t need the broken Tv because the other TV worked. After we checked out, hours later, I receive a charge of $800 on my credit card, which I protested. Mgmt refused to remove the charge and my wife and explaining to them we did not break their TV. Terrible experience and now I have to get a Lawyer to help remove the charge. Travelocity needs to stop doing business with this hotel. Terrible terrible experience.
