Hotel is extremely close to the beach

I went during the winter when there were no visitors. Beach was nice but it was extremely cold. The weather was also windy. The hotel wasn't bad. It had a nice view of the beach. There were some restaurants nearby. Bus system takes a while on Jeju Island.

Beach or city ?

One of the reception staff was extremely unfriendly . No smile and no 'thank you'. The level of English is low . Don't go to the front desk for any info' or assistance . However , the ocean facing room is very nice , with balcony and 5 mins' walk to the beach. The hotel is 30 mins from downtown . You may like to rent a car. If you choose to go around by bus and taxi, you need to be good at sense of direction . There's hardly anyone who can speak in English except at airport . Also, it's very hot to be at the bus stop at the daytime . Around 34 degrees everyday.

I booked a twin share & expected 2 beds, but room had one double bed and a floor mattress which was uncomfortable. Staff tried to help with a fold out cot.

Unfriendly reception

On their website, they advertised a commentary pickup at airport but they did not keep their promise. I wrote them an email telling them details of my arrival and they say if I come between 10 am and 8 pm they could pick me up. Even when the girl at information center spoke to them in Korean about my arrival and my request they refused to pick me up. Besides the staff at reception never smile, they look like officers at the tax office.

2 nights stay

Hotel does not provide free shampoo nor soap. Upon checking in, and learning that I am a single traveller, check in staff tells me I am entitled to only 1 free bottle of water per day (even though fridge is stocked with 4 bottles since it's a room for 2) and if I consume more, will have to pay. Also tells me there is toothpaste, toothbrush, hair/body shampoo in the room - all with a price tag. I thought this is a rather cold way to welcome your guest!

Not recommend. Not felt safe to stay in this hotel. This hotel need renovation. Take more than an hour to get to airport. There is no information or recommendation from staffs for local sight seeing. Would not come back to this hotel.

Three star hotel not up to the mark

We were dissappointed when we saw the facilities in the room. A three star hotel is not providing a bath towel is really a surprise. The bathtub is not having any shower curtain splashing all water during the shower making the bathroom unusable afterwards unless cleaners come and clean the water.

Out of the Way.

Very nice hotel close to the beach but far from downtown Jeju. It takes about 1hr by bus from the airport to the hotel which is right in front of many bus stops. I would stay here again in the summer that way I can stay on the beach all day, but this is definitely not a winter vacation hotel.

Ocean Grand at Jeju Island Korea

Second stay at this hotel because of location and this was a much better experience than the first time. The location is outstanding if you have wheels - easy to find, parking never a problem, and on the water. Staff was very nice during this visit. Would stay there again.

Not bad at all.

The hotel was right across the street from the beach which made it very convenient. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Our room was pretty clean, and had free broadband internet. What was also great was that the hotel offered a free shuttle service to and from the hotel to the airport. This saved us quite a bit of money from taking a taxi considering that the hotel is 30min away from the airport. The only downside is that the surrounding area is very small. Not a lot of selection in terms of restaurants (which were mostly Korean). Also, to get to some of the tourists sites like Sunset Peak , Lava Caves, and Maze, my husband and I had to take taxis. The buses were a bit difficult to access.

I'd stay there again

This hotel rubbed us the wrong way at first. The man at the counter didn't want to try helping/speaking to foreigners, but the woman was helpful. The room was okay, we had the neighborhood view. The other side had a beautiful view of the ocean. The beds are comfortable, the shower is hot, no complaints for the room except that the door handle kept coming out of the door when we tried to leave. If you need a taxi, they will call one for you. The location is great. You are away from Jeju city, and in a quiet neighborhood. There is a gimbap diner, a chicken restaurant, a grocery store next door. The beach is beautiful. Bring your own soaps and shampoo!

Surprisingly pleasant

The room walls are a bit thin, so things can be heard is people are being rowdy, but aside from that... right next a beautiful ocean, a stunning scenic view, small restaurants, peaceful neighborhood. 5 stars in my book. The staff was even kind enough to cater to us in English! (I am Korean.)

Beautiful and Relaxing

Although there wasn't much to do around Hamdeok, it was a beautiful area and it was enjoyable just walking around the area and taking photos. Perfect for those who want to relax and sunbathe on the beach!

Ocean Grand Hotel in Jeju is right in the beach

Very satisfied, clean, at the side of the beach, beautiful restaurant with view to the beach. Staff has more than OK English, were able to give us adequate directions, ask for pizza at night. The rooms are simple but very clean. You can go from there to the main attractions like the lava tubes and prehistoric sites. Again, the beach is just across the street.

Good location for swimming!

The hotel was much better that what I expected. It's really beachfront and in a good neighbourhood. The city centre is 10 miles away but there is a bus stop just in front. They have complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. Their restaurant is a little bit expensive, but there are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores all around the hotel. My room was a standard one but it had some ocean view, too. It was great. There's free high-speed complementary wired internet. No doubt I will go to this hotel next time I'll go to Cheju Island. Only something else: don't forget to bring your own rinse and shampoo, because for an unknown reason they don't offer it in your room, but sell a small pack. The price is $4, but I'd rather bring my own stuff he he.

Great value great view

I like this hotel, new and clean! My room even has a little bit of ocean view! You can walk to the beach in 2 mins. The staff is helpful. The only thing that is not as ideal is the hotel location. It's about 30 min drive from the airport. It takes 45 mins or 1 hr (bus ride) to go "Sin Jeju" - a busy and modern part of the town.
