After a long journey from Switzerland and many delays, I was surprised to learn that the room I had booked and paid for was occupied by another guest. The reason for this? According to them, it doesn't matter if I've paid, if I arrive after a certain time, they give the room to another customer to increase their turnover. I had warned them beforehand that I was going to be late, so what do I do? If I arrive late at night, do I sleep outside? As the receptionist told me, I do hope that the hotel will reimburse me for the night's stay.
