Door lock had dead batteries so i couldn't get in right away. No wifi for the first 2.5 days.No heat for 1 night.

The house was very nice. The communication with the team was great. We booked this one over others because of the hot tub and the game room as we had kids with us and adults that needed a relaxing weekend. The hot tub heating element broke earlier in the week. They fixed it before we got there. They said it would be ok to use the next day. We took the cover off and its competely green. The game room. Dart board had no tips for the darts, the basketball hoop was broke, and pucks for the air hockey table were so light they kept flying off the table without even hitting it hard. The cleaners were very nice, although nothing was clean when we got there. Trash was still in the garbage throughout the house, none of the beds were made or cleaned, and floor was not swept. I called the listing number and they contacted the cleaners to come out. They made it there between 730-800 that night. The company offered 150 dollars to buy 8 people dinner in order for us to leave while they cleaned. Most of us had already had a couple beverages and wouldn't drive. We then had to sit outside on the deck for over 2 hours while getting tons of mosquito bites and battling bugs for two hours. It was very unpleasant. The house in general was very nice. Then the air on the main floor was terrible. At one point on saturday it was 82 degrees in the house. It only went to the desired temperature the morning we were leaving. Lake view was nice, dock was nice, but overall very unpleasant.

Everything was very nice but I would not call it luxury. Some of the outdoor furniture was unusable, we did not use the firepit since it was either too hot or raining. Game room was disappointing. Some of the equipment was broken. We did enjoy our stay tho.

Our group really enjoyed this cabin and the views from the deck at sundown are incredible. There were a few minor issues that prevented this from being a 5 star but to management’s credit they addressed them with us after our stay. All in all we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this spot.

Overall Enjoyable Stay (With Room for Improvement)

Overall, our stay was good. As noted in the Guidebook, we had requested an early check-in, but there was a lack of communication on this. I had to call VRBO to get an update. Upon arrival, we noticed several maintenance issues that needed documentation (e.g., the game room basketball hoop was barely hanging on, there were holes behind doors, etc.), which we promptly documented and sent via email. The cleanliness of the house was generally good. However, the hot tub wasn’t clean from the start—it had a lot of dirt in it. It was only usable for two of the three nights; on the third day, we found it had turned green. I reached out to the property manager and was asked to send photos, which we did, but never received a response. Additionally, the indoor water park was closed during the week, so the kids were disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t functioning. We also noticed someone came to clean the hot tub on two of the three days, but we would have appreciated a heads-up as our kids were outside playing. With four adults and four kids, we will likely look for a larger property with all amenities fully operational for our next stay.

The property was exactly as described and shown in the pictures. There were plenty of towels for both showering and using the hot tub. It was a lovely place to stay on a lake, and although the weather didn’t cooperate for ice fishing, we enjoyed the setting. Plus, being able to bring our pups along for the weekend made the experience even better. Our group would recommend!"

Great property, responsive owners

Great property, nice amenities. Owners were very communicative and and proactive about reaching out. There was one minor maintenance issue while we were there, and the owners were willing to have someone come out immediately. Great family space, cozy, and the lake was great.

Honest feedback to improve the experience for the next

The communication leading up to the stay was good.The house was dirty with spiders, bugs, and grimy surfaces. The sheets and comforters where stained. The thresholds in the doors were all off and moved when stepped on. We were locked out for 7+ hours one day as the hardware on the doors were not well functional. Ultimately, having to be replaced and requiring many exchanges with host. We had to buy toilet paper, washclothes because there wasn't any to use in the house. Overall disappointed in the experience at this home for the price we paid to be here. Inconveniences that kept us from enjoying much of our time. The neighbors gave the impression they were not happy about VRBO in their location.

Lakefront Retreat in Hackson, MN

This was a wonderful stay! Our favorite part was watching the sunset on the lake while sitting in the jacuzzi! We loved the quiet getaway that was dog friendly as well.

Cabin Approved!!

Nice cabin that offered lots to keep the group busy, amenities were great and they took time to try and offer something for everyone. Cleaning could be more thorough and the place isn’t greatly kept up, but my group just left it better for the next. We enjoyed Fishing, the large kitchen for big dinners and the games provided (rainy weekend). Overall, was a great place to check out for the weekend!!

Quick trip from Omaha

We had a great time at the property. The recent remodel was well done and the spacious deck facing the lake was where we spent most of our time. The kitchen was well equipped and a joy to cook in so we seldom left the property. Would recommend for a relaxing, quiet get away…
