It was an unfortunate experience to stay in the beautiful city of Istanbul in this below ground apartment. The host is not gracious and an unwelcoming person unlike the Turkish culture. The apartment lacked trash bags, there was no washing detergent. When we did laundry it horribly stained deep yellow orange stains on our clothes. We contacted VRBO with the issue and they were very gracious and concerned but on attempts to reach out to the owner he refused to do anything about it. He said there was nothing wrong with the washer and it was our fault. Clearly that was not the case. When we asked for a slightly later checkout he refused that unless we paid him 180 dollars. The location of the apartment is great in the heart of sultanhamet and the apartment is ok but stay away from the host. He does not represent the city or the culture of Istanbul.
