If you would like to camp but want a proper bed then this is for you. Our tents sleep up to 6 people but are great for a romantic break for 2, or for friends and families with children 8 and over.
Why not organise a group of friends and take over the whole site?
We offer glamping for softies under canvas in spacious safari tents (11m x 5.4m) but with all the comforts of home and room to all spread out. Our four tents each have 3 bedrooms and sleep up to 6 adults in comfort (our bunk beds are 4ft wide).
All tents have en-suite bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with hotel quality beds, linens, towels and electric blankets. Each tent has its own living/dining room and kitchen area with 2 ring induction hob, and fridge freezer. Sit back and relax on your verandah with a glass of something chilled and enjoy the distant sea views. There are USB points in each tent to charge your devices.
Our four safari tents at Connemara Glamping are all internally the same and are named after local birds which you may see around depending on the time of year. An Fainleog is named after the Swallows which you will encounter swooping around during the summer months.
We are in the perfect location in the heart of Irish culture. Irish is the first language here in South Connemara. We have lots of outdoor space, and a communal fire pit for star gazing nights. We are a short walk to a safe, sandy beach - take our portable BBQ and cook dinner to the sound of lapping waves. We have great walks and on-road cycling. There are off road cycling trails, fishing and golf courses within a short drive. We are less than 5 minutes drive to the ferries or plane to the Aran Islands (a 7 minute flight). Our local cafe, Pota, is Ireland's top cafe for 2024 and made the Irish Independent's Top100 Restaurants in Ireland.
Come and explore - there's too much to do to list here but it's less stressful to stay in one place and have days out. We are in the perfect location for day trips into Connemara, or the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. Kylemore Abbey, Patrick Pearse's cottage, Connemara National Park, Clifden and the Sky Road, Killary Fijord, Cong, and Ashford Castle can be combined to make several days out. If you fancy a beach then a trip to Roundstone and Dog's Bay is in order. In the other direction Galway with its restaurants, festivals, bars and live music is a 35-40 minute drive. You can organise an electric bike tour for your group from the site with Fat Bike for a slower experience.
There's something for everyone - from romantic breaks way, to groups of adult friends and families. We're always happy to give you some ideas for an itinerary or try and help you source whatever you need.
