Traditional Rustic home, Not Stunning
The house was very clean but dated back to 1950's and very bare. No air conditioning but because it was early June there was a nice cross breeze with doors open at night but the mosquitos bit us all night. When the summer heat comes on, I am certain the cross breeze will not save you. And because all your doors are open, and you are surrounded by no less than 6+ home owners, who are on their patios till 2 am or up at 5:30 AM and let their dogs bark all night; lets just say , there is no chance for a good night sleep.
I must mention Ants marched in when we opened the doors but fortunately we were able to kill them by pouring a disinfectant barrier.
Beds are very old, pillows filled with stuff that crackles. Blankets consisted of a fitted sheet only, and a rolled thin polar fleece lap blanket (too small to cover a 5.7" woman) and a similar size cloth covering. The weight was correct for the weather but didn't cover you completely to protect from mosquitoes. The closet doors are so old and creek so loud when you open them you wake everyone in the house.
The plumbing is ancient, and every room threshold is on a different level but you get the hang of it after stubbing your toes 3 times. Garden is very neglected.
Beach is not far but you have to pay & 25 Euros for a lounge chair, or place your towel on a very small and rocky shore.
The positive was the house manager was sweet, and allowed us an early check in. Hvar island is Stunning.
