Location is close to the train station. Some of the staff in the lobby are outgoing and very friendly. The cafeteria is one side of the entrance and I thought it was a small restaurant and passed by the entrance. The room is quite old, but it's clean. The soundproofing needs some work, since I can hear the neighbors coughing. The bathroom is fine but you can see the age from the fittings. Overall the room is quite average, I had a hard time remembering anything unusual about the room. The hall outside looks older than the rooms, so it gives the impression that the hotel focuses the maintenance more towards the rooms people are staying in. The hotel has good selection of chinese breakfast in the morning. For a budget hotel, this is a nice, clean hotel, but if you're sensitive to noise, you probably want to go somewhere else. For me, I would come back and stay again.

The hotel location is very convenient if you travel by the train, it’s a 5-min walk away. The room is clean but pretty dated, the shower curtain doesn’t prevent water from making the whole bathroom wet. I was afraid to go into the bathroom after showering bc it was too slippery. The AC machine was super loud and made it hard for me to sleep. The check-in process was quick and the staff was nice. The breakfast was included in my stay, pretty simple.

Cheap and okay accommodation

Our first room was dirty with hair on the floor but upon telling reception, they sent a man up with a lint roller who tried to clean up the hair for a few minutes. He then told us he would ask reception to change rooms for us, and whilst rooms are a bit musky was good enough to sleep. Great bed, good location to stations

Hotel is an average hotel. Has a decent room to sleep in. We got the room with 2 queen/king beds and one bed is soft whereas the other bed is super hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. Not sure why the difference.. Other than that, all is decent. Staff are friendly and helpful too.

The hotel looks lovely from outside and clean at the receptionist, however, the rooms are old and smells like smoke (I guess its b/c the whole air system). We had to request changing rooms twice, but the staffs were very nice and helpful. The room was not clean enough, there were hair on the floor etc Location is great! Close to train station

This is a great place to stay especially if you are just using it to sleep. Very conveniently located near railway station and lots to see and do just walking around. Enjoyed my complimentary breakfast and coffee even if it wasn't what I was used to. Loved visiting Hualien. Staff were very kind and accomodating even though I could not speak or read Chinese.

We picked this hotel because it was close to the train station, had decent reviews and was cheap. This hotel was not up to par. Moldy smell to whole floor, bathroom really outdated. A/C typical for Taiwan but did not cool as quick as others. We walked out and found a hotel down the street.

Traditional Luxury

I would best describe this place as Traditional Luxury at a reasonable price. Given the full sized bathtub means great value with all the amenities you would expect. It is not a new establishment and there are some small signs of timely wear around the place. But you do have to look for them. Most importantly it is impressively clean, from the bed linen through to the bathroom - all the rooms surfaces were spotless. The staff were helpful and welcoming from the moment you walk in the door. Considering that English is usually their 3rd or 4th language - communication is good and easily understandable, All the staff do their best to meet any needs/requests you may have. I wish more hotels were like this one.

Good hotel in a great location, excellent staff.

This hotel is in Ximending, a really lively place in Taipei, bit it was just at the edge of the area so not noisy. Lots of good restaurants and shopping nearby, plus is close to the Metro / MRT. The staff at the hotel are great, they are so friendly and let me store my bag when I arrived early, and also for 3 days when I went to Hualien. I am staying there on the way back from Okinawa and am really looking forward to it. This hotel offers great value for money.

The hotel is fairly rundown yet fairly well maintained. The door does not feel very sturdy, and is only locked with just one key. The floor in the showers is uneven so when you're showering the water pools to one side. The double bed is actually just two single beds placed side by side. There is no work table or cabinets/wardrobe for you to leave your belongs, hang your clothes. Overall, it is sparsely decorated, ideal if you are looking for an extremely affordable room near to the TRA station. The walk from this hotel to the Night Market takes about 40minutes.
