Thank you for your review. The 250.00 deposit is required for guest that live with-in 30 miles of the hotel. After staying 3 times with no incident the deposit is waivered. This is because we see more damages done and more guests who smoke in our rooms that are local. So to protect our rooms and property this is mandatory. We appreciate everyone who chooses to stay here at the Carmel Inn and Suites but if one of the guests that lives locally chooses not to put the deposit and chooses not to stay here that is ok with us as well. We understand not everyone wants to/can put the extra deposit so we do honor free cancellations, but this resevation was prepaid via Expedia so you would have needed to contact Expedia regarding cancellation.We apologize for this inconvenience but this is in best interest of our hotel.

It was okay

Pros: Good hot breakfast, nice employees.
Cons: Windows need sheer drapes
This place has so many rave reviews, I guess I expected more. For what I paid, though, it was just fine. The room was fine, but the shower was awful. The water pressure was so bad I just skipped trying to wash my curly hair. The room was quiet enough but the windows don't have sheer drapes, so if you want sunlight, anyone who walks by will see everything. The free breakfast in the morning was fine, but one thing that's actually a safety issue is that you have to say your room number out loud to get the breakfast, and people can realize, "That girl's in room 223 by herself!" There's a nice lady dishing the hot breakfast out, so you may want to bring some dollar bills to tip her! The location was also fine, close to a place called Bubba's at the Bayou where I got my dinner. To sum up, everything was fine, and sure, I'd recommend it to someone who just needs a place to sleep.

Thank you Miss Niki, We appreciate you staying with us recently. Our staff will be addressing your issues with your room and taken out of service for repairs. It is unfortunate problems but can arise during your anyone stay. We can only recommend contacting the front desk to have maintenance analyze the problem and resolve it. We apologize for that inconvenience. Our curtains are block out only and do not have sheers, but when closed do not allow passers look in. The breakfast staff will be notified of proper protocol to insure confidentiality. They may have been referring to what group you may be with but room numbers never be announced to other guest. Thanks again for writing this review, it is important for our hotel to maintain it's consistency in our standards.

Great for the price

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, great pool area
Cons: no bar
The staff was so friendly here. They made me feel as if I were at home. Huge Screan TV's in the breakfast areas with more to chose from than could eat. I can't stand to stay in a hotel that I have to take an elevator to my room. I'd rather park by the door of my room to unload once and not having return down stairs to park. In the past I've stayed @ enclosed hotel only to find my truck was broken into and in a room that I could not see my truck. To add to the pain the camera system was down.

Would not stay again

Did not feel safde with the rooms facing the street like that. The place could use some updating and a real good cleaning
